Very, very cool design! It feels incredibly mysterious and makes the viewer curious about not only the character but his background and the society in which he lives, which is no small feat. Itβs obvious from your gallery that you have great talent with illustrating mystical things.

As for critique, the main thing that kind of bugs me is the layout of the page. I think you would ideally want to really put the character big and in focus (maybe centered, but at least not partly cut off!), and then have the details images less emphasized, potentially scattered around the character. Itβs very neat to see the half-undressed character (itβs great in more than one way) but I feel like some of the other images donβt really add much in terms of visual information. Having a back view, for example, could have been a lot more interesting to understand the design.

I would personally tone down the sparkles, mostly because they make it harder to see the character, but also because with the amount there is right now they almost look more like specs of dust. A few very bright sparkles would, in my opinion, give the impression of sparkly in a more understandable and less distracting manner. (They look fine on the skirt piece though, because it gives it texture). The gold pieces could also use a few really bright, hard highlights to show that they are metallic.

Lastly, the clothing design is generally really solidβ¦ except perhaps the chest armor piece. With the way itβs attached, it seems like heβd stab himself in the neck if he bends his back forward!! So Iβd rethink it just a tad, maybe break it into two separate pieces so it can bend in the middle or something.

It makes sense to have less sparkles. (I noticed it a little late when I submitted, that I too, found the extra sparkles annoying) I plan to modify it only after the contest winner has been decided
The sharp armor plate too hahaha I should care for my design's function a little more XD

And you don't describe them at all in terms of origins, surroundings, abilities...which gives me so much freedom to design my own ideas. Thank you for another great piece of art! all of the gold and the upper body structure reminded me a lot of the Archon from XCOM 2, one of my favorite alien species. what inspired this? I love the art style. Is this based off of anything? #projectcomment Β

Honestly, there wasn't anything to inspire this XD I only did something like this is because the rest of the contest participants did a very similar look. And I wanted to break out of that.
The theme was just to create a feminine star-themed boy with cat and ears, and a color pallete of blue and yellow.
