Event:Millbrook Farm Spring Event - 3rd Place
Rider: Hayden Carnedas
Horse: RWS Windrunner

Hayden swung up onto the big chestnut mare easily. Ally shuffled backward as she adjusted herself in the seat. Hayden had to ride one of Tyler's mares for the show, Fergus was lame and Tyler was flying home. She had ridden the mare a few times before, but the pair hadn't clicked very well. Ally had the tendency to act a bit like a princess, she had to be carefully introduced to each new concept and could be high-strung. She clicked her forward and entered the warm-up ring. Immediately, Ally began to suck under herself and prance. Hayden sat back and squeezed the reins gently while pushing her forward. Releasing the pressure on her head, she let the mare roll into an easy canter. Other horses milled around the arena, and Ally methodically pulled her ears back each time one passed by. Clearly, the mare wasn't focusing. Bennett was standing by one of the warm-up fences and nodded to her. Hayden sat up and aimed Ally at the fence. Ally's ears flew forward and her stride turned uphill as she anticipated the jump. Three strides out, the mare reefed her nose forward and snatched the reins, and her collected uphill canter fell apart as she flattened into a rush. Hayden swore as they flew over the fence and she wrestled with the mare to get back under control. Bennett shook his head.
"This is a terrible idea."
"No shit!?" Hayden snapped back. This event was a nightmare for her. Riding two different mares, one brand new, and having to run cross country. The idea put her in an awful mood.
"Cut it Hayden, she can tell you're pissed. Stop thinking about the cross country tomorrow and ride the showjumping properly, please." Hayden huffed angrily, and Ally threw her head as if to talk back to her. She spent the rest of the lap seething, before turning her once again to the jump. She tried her best to breathe out and relax, and Ally clearly decided that was good enough, as she carefully popped over the small practice fence.
"Again."

Hayden had walked the course, which was full of brightly coloured jumps and flowers. The weather was beautiful, but Hayden's attitude soured the event for her and the horses. Aveline was supposed to be grooming for her, but she had instead wasted everyone's time entering her horse in the liberty event and she had ended up devoting all her time to worrying about that. Hayden tried not to hold it against her, it was her first time as a part of the Rosewood team, but it really did irritate her to no end. She waited on Ally, who had finally settled into jumping consistently after a brief workout in the warm up, for her number to be called.
