Description
I shared my idea that Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka would've made a great Batman villian with ~rickytherockstar and he used it to make this character:That inspired me to do something with the initial idea I had. Ricky reworked the concept but I just stuck to the actual movie versions. I bet you could slice together clips from the Willy Wonka movie and the Batman t.v show and it would go together perfectly.
Ricky's pic inspired me but I've been low on motivation lately so I didn't work on this as much as I would've normally. Decided to just get the idea down.
Oh, what it's supposed to be is that Willy Wonka has trapped Batman and Robin in chocolate moulds and hot chocolate is about to be poured in to make giant Dynamic Duo chocolates with a crunchy centre.

I think everyone's been creeped out by the Oompa Loompas at some point.
I younged up Gene Wilder a bit in this. Deliberately. I don't even know why.

Chocolate edible super heroes?! Yes please! :'D
Nah but seriously, good concept. I mean they used Alice in Wonderland characters as villains so why not Willy Wonka?

I didn't realise you had such cannibalistic tendencies.
They also pilfer from Greek and Norse mythology. Once upon a time people thought those gods were REAL so why now Willy Wonka? WHY NOT I SAY!

Who says I was going to eat the heroes on the inside?
Uhm. Because it'd be a little hard to make a villain out of a candy-making, child-loving, fuzzy-haired, midget-employing. . .uh. . .okay so he'd make a better villain than I thought.

Okay first of all, you make a fantastic point! Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka should have been a villain! I mean Gene Wilder is a genius at acting! It would have been THE best!!!
Second, where do you get your ideas??? Cause they are amazing!!!

I was just watching Willy Wonka and it just struck me that he was kinda like a Batman villian. I don't know...maybe I had Batman on the brain while I was watching it or something.
All the colours and extravagant set dressing...it reminded me of the Batman show.

Hoooooooooooooooly fucking shit G, this is absolutely amazing!! Auuuuugh ohmygod, I just, I really adore the way you drew Wonka's face for some reason, and his eyes~ *A* And his HAIR! GOD THE TEXTURE TO HIS HAIR. <3 And those fucking terrifying oompa loompas and the HAPPY GRINNING FACES OF THOSE MOLDS. PFFFFFTTTTTTT.
Seriously dude, I just--I love you. and--chocolates with a crunchy center!!!!! FUCK YOU ARE A RIOT, MAN.
...........................it is just sad because
I like stuff like chocolate-covered pretzels because they're salty at the core and I... think that I'd like these chocolates too...... I actually contemplated it for a while........ .-.;;;;

Guess what I just saw: [link]
I kept adding lines to his hair. I had so little motivation I just kept adding lines to his hair because it felt like I was at least doing something. I think his head turned out the way it did because I wasn't thinking about it too much. I wasn't really fussing over everything. Just so long as it was 'good enough'. But I think it turned out okay. Wasn't the disaster my other 'not fully thought through' drawings have been.
You mean...you would eat chocolates with a human centre?
Wow. I wouldn't. I don't like chocolate so I wouldn't eat them no matter what was in the centre.

I can't eat chocolate with anything. If there's chocolate there I don't want it. The only thing I can really have is chocolate milk but I can't have too much of it.

I thought it was a pretty good match. I have a tendency to relate everything to Batman...but is this case it actually worked.
Yeah I couldn't watch that boat ride when I was a kid. I'd leave the room for five minutes and then come back and resume watching the movie.
Even now I still want to skip past the whole bit.

The Gene Wilder version IS a crazy fuck. I bet he'd make a superb (60's) Batman villain. He's also extra-campy.
I like that the Ooomp-Loompas are also scrappy and messed up.

The-G In reply to Xandi5anders [2012-02-20 07:15:51 +0000 UTC]
He's got the perfect amount of crazy and camp to work in that show. He's pretty subdued normally but when he flares up he almost rivals Frank Gorshin for scene stealing.
It's an unwritten law that goons will always be unsavoury types.

I'm trying to think of a movie that you don't go to see Gene Wilder as a man part though. They're ALL his scenes.
I can't believe I didn't add the "a" to "Oompa" ) I find my (Punchinello's) goons VERY savory, thank you.

Exactly. The Johnny Depp version was just a weirdo.
Gene Wilder was a business man who liked things done a certain way...and didn't really care much about other people.
That's much more entertaining.
