Have you ever experienced hypnopompic hallucinations? I have (many times) and it seems you've captured this pretty well, i.e. vivid objects jumping out of walls etc. Nice work.

thank you so much for the kind words and the feedback !!! unfortunately, i can't call those experiences 'hallucinations' because most of them were actual mystical (ie. psychic) experiences that were proven to be true ... somewhat like remote viewing.

it's an ineteresting serie,
i'm curious where this will end.

well ... i think the middle (ie. sleep and/or dream state) will be the most interesting part.
with the hypnogogic series (ie. the state immediately preceding sleep), the physical world is starting to breakdown and is beginning to penetrate the subconscious mind - depicted as a 'wall'.
with the hypnopompic series (ie. the state immediately preceding waking up), the physical world is starting to re-emerge from the depths of the unconscious mind and slowly take form.

I love how you did the liquid. How did you make it semi-transparent on the top left corner?
I really really love the random lines on the background. it adds a special touch to the image

the compositing was done in photoshop using the various 'blend modes' (ie. mutliply, screen, overlay ... ).
this is slowly becoming a pretty experimental series. i've also been playing around with liquid and particles in realflow 4 and by the way, the random lines are also 3D.

This is awesome. I'm taking a 3d modeling class right now. so hopefully i figure out how to do something like this in a few months - once i learn the program. How long did it take you to do this?

thank you so much !!!
i think it took a little over 41 years ... lol ...
... well, knowledge of software is one issue, while embracing one's independent, artistic vision is another.
from a technical perspective, the 3D learning curve is pretty steep, especially when you consider all of the components (ie. modelling, rigging, texturing, detailing, lighting, rendering, compositing and of course - animation ). i've spent the last 5 years studying these sub-disciplines, in addition to 12 years as a fine artist and a commercial illustrator.
i wish you the best my friend and thanks again !!!
