Also yes, this is a hella different take on Kratos.... Let's say, a tad bit more accurate to the actual Greek Mythology...

Oh also yes, he's the replacement for Herackles/Hercules on the Avengers. We'll... work on what's the fate of that demigod here soonish...

Description:

Kratos was born amongst several siblings to the Olympians Pallas and Styx, as part of the latter's deals they were allowed seats upon the thrones of Olympus, with the siblings becoming enforcers and aspects of various traits. Kratos came to represent strength, and was a brutal and efficient divine punisher. Though he preferred to spend time leading conquests with the Spartans, he came to love a Spartan woman who bore him a child.

However, he became power hungry. Against Ares' wishes, the Strength God used several boons which drove Kratos into a power mad state, slaughtering enemies of the Spartans and, in time, innocents. This bloodshed and carnage would eventually lead Kratos back to the village of his wife. The blood rage would subside as he claimed the last victims of his slaughter.... his very Wife and Daughter. He lamented amongst the flames as the ashes of his victims, his family included, were encrusted upon his skin, marking him the Ghost of Sparta.

Vengeful and wild, he struck out against many deities, including Ares and the other Olympian Pantheon members or their associates. Though some like Athena tried to vie for peace, he was eventually struck down by many, including Zeus himself.

Rather than face death, he was exiled. Kratos, shamed, wandered onto the European mainland as time went on. However, he would make landfall in Scandinavia, and eventually meet a new love, whom he would have a new child, Atreus, though eventually his wife died and though he tried to keep his son away from divine conflicts, it would come to bear their lineage and, in particular, Atreus' role; he had been chosen by Loki as an unwilling recruit to his cult.

Though Kratos raged once more, he was yet again put down, and instead sealed within a tomb deep within, all while his child became a servant of Loki and the world passed by him.

Many thousands of years later, he would awaken in modern day. Though dazed, he was initially set against the Avengers, particularly the god who struck him down, Thor. However, after learning of the state of the world and the status of the Cult of Loki, which still included Atreus as an unwilling part of it, Kratos has since joined the Avengers to assist them and to try and get back his son...
