Indeed, the background is very nice and at least where she's standing, the border between character and background is almost seamlessly tied together. The transition is very nice indeed.
However, I feel that as one looks furhter up the character, the difference and contrast between character and background becomes more obvious.
Now, I'm definitely no artist. I just have a pair of eyes and I've been looking at lots of pictures. Those are my merits.
However, I would make the bold claim that if one were to distort the forest canopy a little, so that it were more out of focus, then perhaps the blending would be improved. Somehow the line between character and background should be made less apparent in any case, as it sort of stands out...
Compare for example with the picture "Rhaya's Booty" where the background stone joints are more blurry, showing that the focus is on the character and items further back from her are out of focus. I feel that adding such an effect would help make the character blend in better and enhance the overall experience.
Not a bad piece, however, by any stretch of the imagination.
Merely trying to offer some constructive criticism. Continuing improvement and all that jazz, eh?
