Eustace Scrubb appeared on the scene already in his signature blue puffed suit and riding his mechanical flying toadstool. After robbing his first bank he took off, only to be apprehended by the Spider. Thankfully, he had prepared for this eventuality. Armed with a ring of nozzles around the base of his craft, he projects a hallucinogenic, disorienting gas. For a hero such as the Spider, reliant on dexterity, aim and balance to scale buildings, use his zipline, fire his Spinnerets and hurl his Spider Bites, suffering from psychedelic visions and vertigo put him completely out of action. And so Scrubb made his escape. The Grub will never be one of the all-time greats, and he may have been arrested as many times as he's pulled a heist, but he knows no other career. He may not be fast and good in a fight, but he is smart and patient. Sometimes that's all it takes.
