Nemo is a genius. But this was not always the case. A dim-witted high school drop out, Nemo managed to get work as a deck hand on a cruise-liner transporting radioactive chemicals. When there was an accident at sea, Ivan and several barrels of the chemicals went overboard. They landed in a long forgotten ruined undersea temple, a relic of the shy-Brasil kingdom built on the site of a crashes irradiates meteor that became the source of ancient aquatic shaman rituals. Ancient alien magic and modern science combined to transform Ivan. He grew a super intellect, his kind literally expanding. When he returned to land he first sought to use his skills to make a quick buck, advertising himself as a ‘human computer’ sideshow, performing feats of impossible calculations and information recall at a local fairground. But as his mind grew, so too did his ambition. It wasn’t enough to understood the world, he wanted to own it. Malicious, obsessed and utterly mad, Ivan Nemo will stop at nothing to possess that which impresses him. Not content to admire advanced technologies, he has an overwhelming urge to capture and study them. Including entire civilisations. He has already frozen countless cultures in time, miniaturising them and placing them in perpetual stasis inside snow globe like orbs, all housed within his personal laboratory-museum. The collection however, is never complete. Having already stolen the African supercity of the Ituri that birthed The Spider and the Egyptian Temple of Horus, he has set his sights upon Hy-Brasil. And will not stop until he has accomplished his aims.
