Description When the residents of a small town in Oregon suddenly were replaced or possibly transformed into walking Picasso paintings, the A.R.G.Onauts found their attention piqued. They nicknamed the unseen figure behind it all The Cubist. Originally thinking it was the twisted work of a mad man, they began to investigate. The truth was far sadder. The truth was Andrew Lesley. What they eventually found was a young man, a would-be comic book artist, with immense untapped psychic potential. It seemed he had been rejected time and again for attempting to bring high art into the medium, specifically Cubist influences. Suffering from severe depression, he had been contemplating taking his own life, realising the only thing that had every truly understood him or seen him for what he was, was art. He had, in that moment of desperation, wished the whole world would see him the way his favourite pieces of art did. And so it was. Beginning with his family, his influence slowly spread outward. Soon his entire rural town had been changed. Not just physically, but internally. They all now seemed to love and serve Andrew. But he was dangerous. In his contentedness, his power grew. He was not malicious at all, not by any means, but his power was strong and accidental all at once. And still, deep down, he hurt. Andrew was not a bad person. Which is why, what came next was all the harder. The A.R.G.Onauts were a team made of geniuses and left-field thinker, yet event they could come up with only one solution to stopping Andrew’s ability. It was not their call to make. They told the young man what had to happen. They explained the irony that, now he had everything he ever wanted, the thing that had saved him from the brink, it meant was now the moment that he had to face his demise. And, to everyone’s shock, Andrew knew. He no longer wanted to kill himself but, if he could, he would be a hero. He would save the world. He let them put him out of his far-from-misery. He died so that all may live. And the A.R.G.Onauts were left in a town of ordinary, average people that could now no longer truly remember the boy they had all ignore. They mourned for him and hated what they had done.
