Sam has been struggling to get people to try a new sample of 'scientifically enhanced' vegetables, many worried about potential side effects from eating the stuff. He texts in a friend of his, Laney, to try the food herself. However, the side effects would quickly take hold, but not in the manner people were expecting...

This is a proper 'one-and-done' story that is also rather tame. I was a bit inspired by the many different food samplers that handed out food at some stores. Throw in some scientific wonder of 'genetically modified foods' (hey, topical) and it made for another enjoyable story to write on.
