sono davvero senza parole, complimenti..oltre alla colorazione su di lei, amo follemente come hai trattato la superficie della grotta, soprattutto l'effetto sulla parete di sfondo, con la luce che infrange l'acqua...davvero complimenti, bravissimi^^

A trick for coloring good outlines is merging them with the basic colors layer. By all means, I prefer to avoid painting outlines on the ink layer.

Cool Thank you
So how did you manage color those outlines and other tricks you did with "Part of that World"

Well in general, when I need to paint outlines, I absolutely DON'T paint them on the ink layer.
First I create a new layer above the ink. Then i CTRL+click the ink layer to load it as selection; this only works when I have a clean black lineart and I've removed all the white pixels from it, which requires a certain procedure that can be explained aside.
Now that I have the ink selection, I hide it, then I go to the empty layer and brush all the outlines with the proper color. In the end I get a perfectly corresponding copy of the inks WITH color, but WITHOUT touching the inks. This good because:
A) Colors are not contaminated by black pixels when coloring grayscale lines
B) You can keep an unspoiled copy of the original drawing without the need to create an useless duplicate
C) You can recover a selection of all colored lines in case you need to work further on them.
Then... here's the real trick... I load the colored outlines as selection and MASK them on the inks, so everything I've colored disappears from the ink layer without any content being actually lost. Finally, I move the colored outlines layer down and merge it with the basic colors layer.
So, colored outlines become part of the FLAT colors.
Then, I create a copy of the flat colors (which now include outlines!) and work on renderings, shadows, lights etc.
In this way outlines are treated as a natural part of any object and will not stand out of the elaboration but will be consistent with it from the start.
There's also a tutorial where I've explained this: [link]
Hope it was useful. If you have any more questions, by all means please ask!

Nice work with the watery look; it's not overdone or distracting, but it's definitely still there!

great job on Ariel! my only complaint is the background; it looks like she's in front of a backdrop of her little cave.

Are you talking about the drawing, or the coloring?

ummm, I'm not sure. maybe it's the difference in the coloring between the background and Ariel? maybe it's the shadows?
