Description I loved the comfy princess outfits in Wreck-It Ralph 2, so I'm a little surprised it took me a month to come up with this idea. I love Barbie movies (especially the older ones) and the opportunity to not only draw them, but play with new outfit designs, was irresistible! I added a little more to the challenge by deciding I wanted to draw each character with slightly-different physical features. Just because Barbie plays all these characters doesn't mean they all have to look exactly like Barbie inside their stories. Admittedly, some of my design experiments went better than others. I didn't use as much reference as I probably should've to depict each variation in face shape and body type, but even so, I'm still very happy with how they all turned out. My favorite designs overall go to Anneliese, Erika, and Genevieve Now, a quick rundown of each design:

Odette (Barbie Of Swan Lake) is enjoying a chocolate chip cookie (her fave, according to Kelly), wearing a "#SwanGoals " raglan and ballet slippers. I imagined she's never been the most adventurous girl, and even after discovering her inner heroine and becoming a princess, she still likes to keep things relaxed and easygoing, eating sweets and dancing around the room. Anneliese (Barbie As The Princess And The Pauper) is totally hyped over some new science fact, unsurprisingly when you notice her cheesy "Geology Rocks!" tee. She's always been one of my favorites personality-wise, and I couldn't resist playing up her "nerdy" side. BG brush: Design Credit: Brusheezy

Erika's (Also Barbie As The Princess And The Pauper) inner rockstar comes out whenever her fave jams come on. She sports a vintage flowy tee from the "Roth World Tour 2004". Yes that is completely an Easter egg, as a nod to the original Barbie movie composer, Arnie Roth, and the year of that particular film's release. BG brush: Free Photoshop Brushes by Brusheezy

Annika (Barbie And The Magic Of Pegasus) is a total rebel and ready for the coldest weather in her "Skate Life" hoodie and heavy-duty boots. I've always loved her more attitude-laden personality and knew from the get-go she needed a hoodie to represent that somehow. Plus, she's all about ice skating, so I thought it'd be fun to add new meaning to the phrase "skate life". BG brush: JavierZhX

Brietta (Also Barbie And The Magic Of Pegasus) looks like she totally just won an argument with her little sis, wearing a slightly-obvious sleepshirt nodding to her former equine form. Her hairstyle is also a nod back to her pegasus manestyle, with a ribbon inspired by the ones decorating her dress. The design on her shirt is actually a slightly-revamped old drawing I did back in '15. BG brush: ryky Leggings design brush: KeReN-R

Genevieve (Barbie And The 12 Dancing Princesses) has all the street cred in her "Dance All Night" crop top and dad-cap. I thought it'd be hilarious to depict her as more of a hip-hop dancer than a ballerina! She actually took the longest to find the best pose for, but it was worth the time I ended up putting into her. Rosella (Barbie As The Island Princess) is ready for whatever adventure awaits in her "Island Vibes" tank. Her look was highly inspired by Moana's comfy outfit, but I decided to give her a more atheleisure look for something different. And of course, I definitely wanted to keep her braid. So yes this was a lot of fun! Perhaps one of these days I'll do some more of them! I know I gotta get the other eleven dancing princesses in here for sure...

Odette, Anneliese, Erika, Annika, Brietta, Genevieve, and Rosella belong to Mattel. The comfy princess concept belongs to Disney. The drawings themselves, and my character design elementrs, belong to me. Please be kind in the comments.

Okay. Also I did some art on Rosella with my favorite Call Of Duty character C. Miller.

I absolutely love this. The ways that you've updated each character into this particular modern setting were really creative, and it helped to bring out each of the princesses' personalities more as it can be rather difficult for a casual viewer to differentiate each role Barbie has had, especially since a large majoirty of the roles she's played have all been princess heroines.

I'm glad that you explained who was who in the description tho, as it wasn't exactly obvious just looking at the picture. I would've been able to get Odette and Annelise quicker if their shirt slogans were easier to see, and perhaps have Annika and Brietta look like they're interacting more like you did with Annelise and Erica so that we could make that connection better. For example, you could show Annika looking more annoyed that she's lost the argument she had with her sister (cause we both know that she wouldn't handle not getting her own way well), whilst Brietta looks smugly in her direction.

While I love all of them, I feel like Odette, Annika and Rosella were done the best. The facial expression you did for Odette especially; it's something in that toothy half smile and those doe-y oval eyes that captured her so well.

I'm definitely curious to see how you'd do Barbie's other roles if you were to continue

I didn't include Clara because I haven't seen Nutcracker yet. As for the others, I chose to focus on my favorites for the time being (especially since I haven't watched Diamond Castle, Rapunzel, and The Three Musketeers in a while). One of these days I'll give the other princesses a comfy go!
