I've never posted any of my color studies before, simply because they're usually not much worth looking at. I put a bit more effort into this one though, and it turned out rather nicely, so I thought I'd share this never-before-seen step in my picture making process. It also gave me a good opportunity to try out some new Arches watercolor paper. The stuff worked great, and held moisture much longer than the Strathmore paper I've been using.This was done on 11/27/17.

I really do love this. The softness gives the whole things a more cozy look which fits right in with the scene. I would love to hang something as warm and happy as this on my wall.

While admittedly not as sharp as the finished product, this draft has a certain softness to it that is rather nice, you'll please forgive me that I am not the best at giving very technical reviews, I'm just to darn easy to please.

All the same, I do appreciate the input. This little comp wasn't really meant to stand on it's own, and I certainly wasn't trying to win any awards with it. Still, there are some things I like better about it than the finished painting. It's all very spontaneous and not at all over-worked.
