My girls have been watching a lot of _Big Hero 6_ since the home release. Over the weekend, I had a chance to see the new movie _Chappie_ and ever since then, I’ve been dying to draw this! It’s a little rough, I really feel inadequate in my robot rendering, and I know I’ve improvised probably too many details, but I hope it’s recognizable enough. The premise was too cute and I had to get it down before I lost the inspiration.

Bah-la-la-la-la! I agree that this piece is a bit rough around the edges, as I think Baymax isn't pudgy enough, but both are definitely recognizable. You can totally tell they're bros! How could you NOT like the friendly atmosphere?

There are definitely parallels to Short Circuit. I don't feel it was any more angsty than it needed to be. There was a real examination of the human condition on all sides. The pacing was good and the near-future, lived in gritty sci-fi feel was great. I wasn't really satisfied with the tidy ending, but if you approach it as a modern fairy tale, I think it's easier to digest. It really is just an old-fashioned, pulp sci-fi story come to the big screen. That said, I really missed a peppy pop song like Short Circuit had :3 Oh, 80's. I loved your pop song tie-ins.
