Description

many an age ago, on the borders of memory...
in a time when the world was very different...
when the Great Tide had not yet risen,
and the mighty Sentinels did not yet stand...
there was another sort of people.

they were the guardians of this world,
made by the gods to protect their creation.

they called themselves by a name that no one can remember,
a name that could not be sung.
so instead, we called them what we knew them to be...
the Architects.

the Architects were possessed of awesome knowledge,
and thusly, power.
it was such that it could only have been bestowed upon them by the gods,

for like gods they shaped the world.

it was they who picked up the pieces of this shattered earth,

and they who put those pieces back together.

they could do things that no mortal had ever been able to do.
they created new strains of life as though from naught.

they shaped the very face of the earth itself.
and in doing all of this, they sealed the wounds in our ailing planet.

then, when they were finished here,
they ascended into the heavens to join their makers at last,
leaving behind the strange, new world that they had created...

... our inheritance.

for in their wake,
the Architects had also left the tools that had made them great,
bestowing them unto us.

plunged into a new age, we use those tools in the pursuit of the same knowledge and power...

in the hopes that one day,
we, too,
might ascend.

hi again it's me. sorry this one is a little less dolpho-centric. it'll be over after this.

honestly this one has been a source of ANNOYANCE for me. i started this as soon as i ended the last one, but about 1/3rd of the way through, i stopped working on it because i decided i didn't want to do it after all because i didn't want to exposit too much on the topic. but then a few months ago i re-decided i DID want to do it because it was an important part of dolpho history.

so i ended up resolving to get it out of my system before the end of the year. i did about 4/5ths of it and i was liking how it was turning out, and then RIGHT AT THE END my tablet started acting up. so there are a lot of things that bother me a lot, and several of the panels look shittier than I wanted for them as they are LITERALLY UNFINISHED, but i can't very effectively fix it right now and i want to stick to my deadline. i also started fretting over some last minute changes so fuck me.

plus i just wanted to get this OUT of my FUCKING WAY so i could work on a different thing next year without worrying about this shit on the back burner.

SO UH............. I GUESS I JUST HAVE TO FUKKEN DEAL WITH IT. THANKS N SHIT

also merry christmas, happy holidays, and have a crazy go nuts new year~
