Let's be honest: it can be really tricky bringing humor to a tough situation like this. It was a massive deal to the brony fandom, but we do understand that there are complex factors which must be taken into account when it comes to running a business as large as Hasbro. To be honest, it was the nicest and most apologetic cease and desist letter I've read (and I've read a particularly harsh one from a gaming company to a brony). We don't like it, but they let jananimations keep the bronies documentary song and Don't Mine at Night, so that's a start. Anyways, enjoy the comic! ~Boardgamebrony

Button Mash was a background colt with a dark brown coat, orange hair, amber eyes, wears a red and yellow beanie with a green propeller, and looks like a recolored Shady Daze.
He had two appearances in Season 2. who was made popular by Jananimations, through his videos Don't Mine At Night and the Button's Adventures Pilot, which were removed thanks to the C& D, but the former has already made a return.
He's 8 years old and loves video games (hence the name).

The story goes, Janannimations studios, the guy who took Buttonmash out of a random clip, and more or less gave him a personality, got a cease and desist order from Hasbro. They threatened him with legal action, and he had to take down all his videos.

A Cease and Desist letter is basically a notice from a company or individual that basically amounts to "stop what you're doing, do NOT do it again, or you will face legal action." It comes up a LOT when dealing with copyright, and is something no producer of fanart, fanfiction or any other fanwork wants to happen to them.
