Event piece for TheClansoftheValley , which will now be moving to WithinTheValley !!

(Note: Trigger Warning for kidnapping, assault, forced pregnancy)

So for quick context, the group is undergoing a five year time skip. Within this time skip a new threat to the clans (in the form of a menacing cult of cats) migrates into the valley and makes their home there. Clan cats go missing during this time period, either being sacrificed to whatever terrible entity these strangers worship or being used as breeding fodder to keep their numbers strong. Thistlestar's elderly mother, Dapplespike, is one of those who are taken by this mysterious new threat. However, none of the clan cats are able to figure out who is napping their clan-mates or where they could be in the valley.

Dapplespike is somehow able to escape and return to ThornClan with the litter of kits she'd been forced to have while in the cult's captivity. Unfortunately she was treated poorly while there, and succumbs to illness and malnourishment not too long after returning home. Thistlestar and her father and brothers grieve for the poor elder, but Thistlestar and her mate Silverstorm ultimately decide to care for the kittens that Dapplespike left behind. The kits grow up believing that they are their parents.

At the end of the five year jump/start of the clans' new in-game "chapter" of their lives, Thistlestar is taking a peaceful stroll with one of the kittens (now an apprentice) when they come across Skyflutter being dragged off by a pair of strange cats with an unsettling accessory aesthetic. Thistlestar recognizes the scent that had been on her mother all those moons ago and, realizing who these cats are and that they were about to do the same things to her friend, attacks them in a rage.

This results in the death of one of them. And while technically it was within the Warrior Code for her to do such and that f-cker definitely deserved it, Thistlestar is horrified by how strongly her actions were ruled by her emotions. Not trusting herself to carry her clan through this new threat with a reasonable head on her shoulders, she'll be stepping down as leader and passing the role onto another.
