Not really a tutorial so much as personal observation and references. I hope somebody finds it at least a little useful. <<Also, the bit about angles and perspective can probably be applied to all kinds of objects that have weird angles (maybe a boomerang, a chair, or an abstractly designed building).

This is very useful! Funny, I think I noticed that the grip and the body are not connected at a 90Β° angle, but it would never come to my mind when actually try to draw something gun-like. Sometimes it is easier to read a description in order to understand something better (and at other times, it is easier to look at an image, too

In the second reference picture with the hands I was so confused as to what kind of hand thing you were going for. I was like, "What the hell is that?" and then I realized that they were TWO hands, not ONE. Couldn't stop laughing after that XDD

This is a great tutorial. I have always avoided drawing guns because they seem hard. But modern hand guns seem pretty easy because they are just rectangles. I'm pretty good drawing hard edges.Β My favorite thing about this was actually the stuff about perspective and changing angle. I never knew that but it makes sense and think that's the key. That should helpΒ me a lot.Β I'm sure you must be super busy so this is just a loose request and I don't expect anything. Would be wonderful if you could one day make a tutorial with revolvers.Β Just developed a cowboy character and it's awful trying to draw his six shooters. I like that you show guns alone, in different perspectives and held by the hands. Revolvers are more round so they are giving me a very hard time.

Yes! I've been looking everywhere for gun-drawing tutorials, and keep running into instructions on how to pull one out of a holster, instead.
The actual drawing tutorials I've been finding have mostly been very sloppy. This is very solid, and is a big help to me, as I'm about to start drawing some firearms on DeviantART for my videogame concepts, soon!
