Well, this one was a request, and is this morning's work. After I posted Malm in Blue and Purple Raven, I got a stack of requests and commissions, which is kind of nice.I first posted her this morning as a Deviation, changed my mind and moved her to Scraps and then changed my mind again and moved her back when I found someone had favourited her... just couldn't make up my mind, I guess.
Anyway, as I say, this was requested. It's American teeny-bop pop and television star Miley Cyrus. She's the superstar darling of the pre-teen girl crowd, and her face appears on all the teen magazines. She has a really funny televsion program on Disney Channel, and I understand her father is a "Country" musician.
This painting is a gift for one of her fans, and is 9" by 12". Since it's FanArt, I can't charge for it, but we'll work something out.

I noticed that you had commented, but that was after I'd already chucked it into Scraps, so I couldn't reply. I felt really bad about it - that's the kind of thing that keeps me up nights. Yeah, she's a little cutey, and it's interesting you mention Bynes. They are very much alike in their sense of humour and silliness.

If someone comments on a deviation and it gets torn down or moved, there's no "place" for a reply to go, because the deviation number changes or is removed. Basically, there's no webpage for the reply to go to. Sad...

I moved it to scraps because a) it was a different style from the two already up, so it looked odd on my page and b) it was kind of embarrassing. I like the show and all, but I'm not going to paint Miley Cyrus unless somebody asks for it.

She does have odd teeth for an American. On this painting, that was the hardest part - good teeth are a lot easier to paint.
I think my 9" by 12" (23cm by 31cm) single-colour portraits usually sell for about 40 Pounds, but I've been told I need to raise that up a bit. I'm just a little uncomfortable charging people much more than 20 Pounds an hour, unless it's skilled work, like the Asian stuff. I'll probably start charging about 60 Pounds apiece for paintings like this before long.

I am a firm believer in escapist fantasy television. She's on a show called Hannah Montana, about a girl who disguises her identity as a popstar while she's in school. It's a stupid premise, but the characters are really funny...

I think you'd be hard-pressed to understand her if you saw the show, which may be why it doesn't play well in other markets. She speaks in a very heavy southern American twang that's a bit hard to follow if you're not familiar with it.

It also just sort of makes me mad because, my GOD! That on the DISNEY CHANNEL? Disney's a total cop-out nowadays. I heard that they were even planning on ditching 2D animation films altogether, which totally broke my heart. D:
