You should read the book! Although honestly I hated some of the aspects of it (like the lead girl Evey falls for a man 30 years her senior for "daddy issues").
Codename V wears a mask of Guy Fawkes, so I wanted to focus on the mask. The appeal comes from the fact that the mask wears a fixed smile, even when he's slaughtering by the dozens! I felt that adding the cloak would diminish attention from it. Although...
