Description
I set out into the wild, fresh air, armed with my sketchbook and a mind freshly filled with the spoils of an absolutely FANTASTIC new art book, and lo and behold, inspiration struck! My trusty eraser and I fought valiantly, but in the end, ideas prevailed.

So here’s a little Easter fairy I guess. This was another one of those things where an idea just started going on its own, but I think I love it. I plan to color this somehow, maybe break out my gouache again??
The sketch is not perfect, but I wanted to take a picture before I do anything else to it because there are some things I really like that might get ruined later. Like LOOK AT THAT FRONT ARM SHAPE!!?! Where did that come from? The stylization that happened there is in my mind perfect. Wow.

It is insane to see how much just starting at one person’s art for an afternoon can change you. Or me. Maybe it’s just me. But this has happened before. Seeing another artist’s work in depth and high volume has the power to change my style. So I think it’s safe to say this art book was definitely worth it! I will be studying it more in the future for sure.
