Description I'd love to see some works from this tut, if you have made one, please tell me so!

It's a nice effect I think, you can play with the size and settings till you get your own fire

Can this be any version of Paint.NET, or does this have to be 'version 4.0'?

This is super awesome! I use GIMP, but i could easily follow along and recreate the same thing. This is a good basic for me to learn from. Thank you so much

theartistic In reply to GirlofRandomness [2010-02-15 14:38:28 +0000 UTC]

sadly, nope. I stopped using paint.NET and I'm currently using adobe Photoshop which is uncomparably to paint.NET, it's so much better. Only a lot more complicated. cost me 2 years to learn it hehe

Can you make a water tutorial?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

theartistic In reply to xXDibFanMelissaXx [2009-10-16 14:09:12 +0000 UTC]

I'm sorry but I haven't used paint dot net for over a year.. The best thing you can do is:

make a shape for what the water should be. make it turquoise to blue and then make sure you drop the opacity down enough so you can see the bottom or what's behind it (im not talking about seas) Make with bright white some stretched triangles and leave them about 95 to 100% opacity WHITE. These resemble the light on the water and how much the waves wave xP Then 1 layer above the first water layer put some darker places just on the places you feel is right and make them blurry. Hope it works out (A)

I had the same problem. When you blur it make sure 'centered' is checked off.

theartistic In reply to awenky [2009-09-20 09:59:03 +0000 UTC]

Oh, you've probably used too much blur everywhere ^^
