Description Decided to do a simple low effort drawing of the characters from The Mysterious Cities of Gold, mostly due to coming across the recent reboot. It ended up being a bit more of an effort piece. It's not perfect, but then again, artists tend to say that a lot so you be the judge of that. Whelp, here I am to dump it on deviantART, and now it is there for you to see.

Also, something that is not pony for a change.

Also, the reboot of the show looks pretty decent, I'll definitely will be marathonning it soon.

I've been keeping up with a band of chums who've been translating the new series as it's come out. I've got a backlog I've been meaning to marathon as well, but it looks damn good and if any classic deserves a retread, it's definitely this one.

Hmmm, I have a sneaking suspicion that it's that thread on that website that I use to check on the new series. And yes, this series was long overdue for a reboot, a proper reboot, not that... thing from the mid-2000s.

There was a "thing" from the mid-2000s? I'm hesitant to google it...

Even Wikipedia seems to try its hardest to deny its existence. It was essentially a reboot in a more literal sense, in that it does not take place in the same timeline (as far as I can trust my memory) and they changed the character designs. I also believe it was a direct-to-DVD series, with poor distribution to boot, which can only worsen its quick descent into obscurity. The most striking memory I have of it is that it had god awful character designs and seemed to go by the train of thought that is "kids like bright colors, amirite?".

There's a "Mysterious Cites of Gold" reboot?! Where?! On what network/channel?!

Heh, I remember the ORIGINAL version on Nickelodeon back in the day (back in the 80's, that is). It,and DangerMouse, were what made the Nick of back then VERY cool, indeed!

It was a golden condor, but close enough.

Well we cant all be Goldenbridplaneologist's.

We did actually find out the nature of the Condor in the stream mind you. Memory of half forgotten TV shows from prehistory can be fuzzy at times :3
