Description "FIFTIES FUTURE"
Oil Painting - 48" x 48" - #5 in a Series of 7

The idea of having pollution-free driving high above the landscape in hydrogen powered hover-cars is a reality in "Fifties Future" It's an idealized glimpse into what the people in the 1950's may have envisioned.

"TODAY'S REALITY IS THE STUFF OF YESTERDAY'S DREAMS"

Some Insightful Information to think about:

There's more computing power in your average cell phone today - than there was on any of the Apollo Spacecraft that took the astronauts to the Moon.

Skyscrapers are supreme feats of engineering and design, and in many ways you can mark the passing of time through their technical innovation.

the rest in this series of Oil paintings are here:

Can I please use this art piece for a school project? I'm asking artists who've done future art pieces to so I can have a page to see what different artists perspectives of what they think is the future is. Can I please use it? I'll give credit for sure!

Very well done, it reminds me of some of those old black and white b-class films.

Keep up the work, theartyst.

This is so fun and very "Jetson's" like in the way that you captured it.
I remember the old black and white TV shows of the Twilight Zone or even the old Flash Gordon shows where they had "ray guns" and clunky robots. Kudos!

This is great. I was alive in the 50's and this is so accurate. One neat touch/detail is the cigarette ad. People in the 50's would never have imagined that cigarette ads wouldn't still be around in the future.

This looks like digital art. You did very nice on the blending.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

theartyst In reply to Omenirea [2010-03-03 21:53:39 +0000 UTC]

haha thanks, goes to show all of the young/only digital artists of today what traditional art can do too

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Omenirea In reply to theartyst [2010-03-03 21:58:28 +0000 UTC]

Of course! There are plenty skilled traditional artists who
can make it resemble Digital art like spot-on, but you must be
really skilled, depending on style, and a good scan/photo of it helps too

I use to do both medias, but I can't afford to keep buying traditional
supplies (paints, brushes, masks, canvas(boards/regular) etc). So I just
use digital now D;

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

theartyst In reply to Omenirea [2010-03-03 22:02:12 +0000 UTC]

so so true, those art supplies can add up to be very expensive, especially when doing a massive oil painting like this one and my current dog painting, ... but, it's worth it to have a tangible outcome

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Omenirea In reply to theartyst [2010-03-03 22:04:51 +0000 UTC]

ja, for a little tube of paint (like the size of my pinky) is like 13$!
My family just can't afford it...
I would loveee to do traditional like you though, You're fabulous, how long have you
been painting for?

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

theartyst In reply to Omenirea [2010-03-03 22:15:48 +0000 UTC]

I'm fairly new to painting -- somewhere around only 30-40 oil paintings -- where I've done over a thousand pencil portraits, and thousands of ink drawings and such ((been at it for 32 years now professionally))

I have still a lot to do and learn but, I'm getting there and having tons of fun along the way --> hey, maybe u would enjoy reading and looking at some of my very first artworks and anecdotes [link]

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Omenirea In reply to theartyst [2010-03-04 02:54:39 +0000 UTC]

Whoaaah that's a lot of pictures! I think I have done like... not even 1% of that
I hope to make as many as you one day
Do you have your work in museums, or any galleries? Do you sell them and stuff?

I see, but an artist never finishes their learning They keep on going at it until the
day they die, right? And I am looking it up right now thanks

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

theartyst In reply to Omenirea [2010-03-04 14:21:30 +0000 UTC]

yes I sell 'em,... that's how i feed the monsters in my belly, and pay the light bill to illuminate the ol' easel / drawing tables @ nite

yes yes yes, till the day we die, then all of that knowledge & skill(s) & experience die w/us ((unless we tell and help others along the way))
