Pencil Drawing: Tomboy28" x 21" - Prismacolor Colored Pencils on Pastel Paper
drawn in 1994 - I took the photo 4 years earlier of my daughter, so she wasn't pleased to see this after it had won an Art Competition (it was on TV as a commercial, I was interviewed on the news...

at the time THIS was my most detailed pencil piece. It takes long hours to fill-in areas with JUST pencil lines

Wow! How do you make the colours look so extremely smooth? When I use coloured pencils I always have very tiny white dots in there; even using various 'layers' of colours does not help. Could you give me a tip what I could do better?
The cloth looks extremely realistic here, I especially like the yellow shirt - it's a great colour!
