OK β¦..This page is a bit of an oddity. It wasn't part of my original script, but I've decided to put it in in reply to some of the comments that have been coming in.
When I made page 1 and page 2 (Well, mostly page 2), it was taking so long to complete them that I had to cut some frames out. This mean that some reader's interpretations of events were a little different from my original vision. Specifically, people through that Princess Celestia was being cruel, and that spike was being mean.
So I've pushed back the original page 3 to be page 4, created a new page to add back in some of the frame that I took out.
I'm having more trouble than usual with eyes on this page. Everybody looks a bit silly.

All images of Spike are based on Spike is not Amused by tamalesyatole ([link] ). I've edited the face, arms, posture, eyes and so on for each frame, but credit should go to tamalesyatole as none of these images would be half as good without their original vector.

Want to know the funniest part about this whole thing? Celly didn't actually make Twilight into an earth pony. She made her into a generic pony. Earth Ponies have magic that gives them massive strength and an affinity for plant growing. SHE DIDN'T EVEN GIVE HER THE BASIC THINGS SHE NEEDS TO BE AN EARTH PONY.

It's not really about magic.
Twilight has lost her sense of identity, so she's acting out of character and is doubting herself.

Twilight is probably the second most in character, First of course being the best pony who is spike. Her depiction is a bit more hyperbolic than the show. Honestly, its more everyone else that I personally take issue with being out of character.

So far almost every character in this has proven despicable.
Except Spike, who is pretty much spot to the show. Perhaps a bit more wise than in the show, but not that far off.

I am disappointed in you in so many ways, Twilight. Not only did that demonstrate an utter lack of faith in your friends, but it was also racist and markist. What are you, an 12-year-old pre-Equestrian loner? Maybe you should lose your horn permanently as punishment.
On a more addressed-to-the-author point, I think you're overusing narration. You don't need to remind people of the premise at the beginning of every comic; they can take a momentary look at the first comic if they've forgotten. You don't need to end every comic with "next week on the Without Magic Show"; people can figure out on their own that the story isn't over based on the fact that it hasn't come to a resolution yet. And you don't need to describe what's about to happen or what just happened; it's debatable whether you're insulting the audience's intelligence of your own writing ability, but you're insulting somebodyΒ for no good reason.

I'd actually love to see this concept as an episode. Not so much the race change as much as something that prevents her from using her magic. Maybe a misfired spell or an ailment of some kind.

I see one problem Twilight would have to face while she's like this. People could easily believe she's a changeling (there could always be the one odd changeling that gets the species of the said pony it transforms into completely wrong.) and think Celestia should have let Ponyville know in advance so people don't think someone's impersonating Twilight.

But ... a changeling would have a horn and a Cutie Mark, and it probably wouldn't burst into tears every other frame, wouldn't it?
If Celestia let people know in advance, what would she say?
If Princess Celestia were to land in the town square and tell everypony 1) it would humiliate Twilight, and 2) People would be bending over backwards to help her which would go against the whole "doing it yourself" thing.
