Description
This is part 7 of my ongoing Pony comic.On page 6, Applejack snapped at Twilight, because she understand the difference between being an Earth Pony, and being a farmer (As she said herself, not all Earth Ponies are farmers).
In this page, Applejack reflects on what she she said.
Yes, this page was planned ahead of time. It's not a response to the angry messages that were posted on that page.

This page was created in Inkscape and Photoshop. Most of the foreground characters were scratch drawn for this page, or for previous pages.
I've used gameguy001 's Sweet-Apple-Acres as a background for all frames ([link] ). Though I modified it slightly as I wanted to put a shadow in for the fence.
Applejack's Cutie Mark was created by BlackGryph0n ([link] ).
I would have uploaded this earlier on, but I just couldn't get Applejack to look right in the last frame. I originally had her looking forwards, not sideways, but I just couldn't get it to go how I wanted, so I ended up re-using the face from frame 5.

Telling someone that they're overreacting doesn't solve anything. Yes, they were trying to help by trying to get her to calm down, but they still just shrugged what was bothering her off without doing anything to help her. And I'm not saying that they don't care about Twilight, but they don't put the same about of effort she does when helping one of them.

If you came to me in a panic and told me that aliens were trying to abduct you, the only thing that I would help you to do would be to calm down.
I wouldn't try to solve your alien problem because I wouldn't think that there was a problem to solve. I'd think that it was all in your head. Just as the character on the show thought about Twilight.
They didn't put much effort into helping her, because they thought that there wasn't a problem to help her with.
Let's look at this a different way. How much effort would Twilight put in if Pinkie came up to her asking for help to find an invisible cat?
Or helping Rainbow Dash to track down a mythical creature out of a story book?
She might humor them, but that would be about it.

You're right. I suppose I made them out worse than they are. When compared to the other ponies, Twilight rarely has problems as far as we seen. What we saw weren't the best examples of how good friends they actually are and I put too much into those few instants. Sorry about that.

I guess that since Twilight is kinda the main character. In as much as the show has one. She's usually the one helping other ponies out.
There are some good examples of how the main characters "should" act. Like in The Last Roundup, when they rally round to help Applejack. Even though she doesn't want their help.

Applejack, we all get angry at times, and yeah, we may sometimes do things that we may regret later. Everyone makes mistakes, but that doesn't mean those mistakes can't be fixed.

Did you ever explain why Princess Celestia removed her cutie mark? Since Twilight is still Twilight, why would she lose it? Her mind is intact, she still know just as much about magic, and she is still interested in it.
Changing Twilight's persona to the point that she wouldn't have gotten her cutie mark for her interest in magic doesn't seem to be the point of this exercise.

I put in a brief explanation on the first page.
Celestia thought that it would encourage Twilight to look for something outside of magic. You know, like how the CMC are looking for what makes them special\different. Celestia wants Twilight to look for what makes her special\different. But which isn't magic.
I also wanted to do something that would make her embarrassed to go to others for help., and which would cause her to question who she really was.
It also makes her easier to draw. I can have her sitting down, or viewed from different angles, without having to worry about getting her Cutie Mark look right.

My thoughts exactly in the last comic. I thought AJ shouting at Twi was uncharacteristic of her. She's not exactly one to blow her top.

And for the record, I thought it was fairly in-character for Applejack to be offended and snap like that. Just as much as it's in-character for her to feel bad once she realizes what she's done.
