Couldn't agree more with all of this. It's like the movie completely ignored how many allies Equestria has. Also, that part where Sunset says she's "in the middle of a better movie". I do indeed prefer Forgotten Friendship over the MLP Movie, but that's just a personal preference. I just found the MLP Movie pretty bland and forgettable overall.

Sorry to bust your bubble, but The Emoji Movie didn't bomb at all. It made $217 million dollars on a budget of $50 million dollars. It was a resounding success, financially speaking. Sure, it had an 8% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but I doubt Sony cares much about that.
