Yes, that title was longer than it should've been.

In my spare time, I decided to create this little thing here. I used a preexisting map of Equestria, edited it, and started drawing the borders to my liking, more or less.

The whole idea originates from a RP I am currently participating in. It revolves around the concept of extra-dimensional portals opening up in various places back on Earth, mostly within the borders of the USA.

At first, not much would happen, as humans had no idea where the portal lead to or what it did in the first place. After a (somewhat complicated) incident, a couple of people pass through the portal and end in Equestria.

Fast-forward a couple of years, these people enjoyed their stay in Equestria, with Princess Celestia and Luna reigning peacefully until there was a diplomatic incident in regards to the USA.

Guess what happens next? The entire ground force of the USA came in through the portals, and wiped the thousand-year Diarchy off of Equestria, installing a government not unlike theirs, eventually renaming the nation to - "The United States of Equestria".

After some initial revolts, spearheaded by a surviving Luna (and later being executed for the same reason), Equestria saw an economic, political and social revolution.

Every small town or city rapidly modernized and became on par with other nations back on Earth. The industrial revolution went by so fast, that no one would even notice that they had been receiving manufactured goods from a newly-built factory nearby. Cities around Equestria boomed into gigantic proportions, and colonization of nearby areas began soon after.

Fast forward a decade or two, with the establishment of a permanent human nation near Equestria, this one saw its economic boom and social revolution calm down a bit. However, the federal government of Equestria saw an opportunity to further its influence on the continent, and annexed a large portion of unclaimed land, referring to it as "Germaneigh". As it is just an annexed territory, it not not eligible to be fully integrated as a state, and will remain a territory of the U.S.E until it passed the mandatory requirements to be converted to a state.
