Please note that "Thunder Island's" and "Stratus City's" locations are not official, and nor have they been proposed to be added to the official map. I just wanted to show on the map where I think that they would be, so as to give some sense of where in the world Stratus City is.

THE ONLY THING I DID TO THIS MAP WAS EDIT A SPECIFIC PART OF THE MAP TO POINT OUT THE SETTING OF A ROLEPLAY I WAS DOING. This edited version shows the location of Thunder Island, the island above which lies the sky-city Stratus City.

Thunder Island and the small islands adjacent to it to the southwest are also a part of the Stratospheric Domain.

The Stratospheric Domain lies within Celestia's Influence.

Desciptions:

The Stratospheric Domain: Ruled by King Thor and Queen Thea, the Stratospheric Domain is a small kingdom that rules over the southernmost islands on a small archipelago southeast of Equestria. Due to how close these two kingdoms are, and due to the Stratospheric Domain being inside Celestia's Influence, King Thor and Queen Thea allow Equestrians to live in the archipelago and Stratus City, almost as if the Domain was nothing more than a part of Equestria.

Thunder Island: Named so because of the intensity of its frequent storms, Thunder Island is covered in lush foliage, with Mt. Scarlet in the center of the island, towering over the trees, lying dormant. Thunder Island is part of the Stratospheric Domain, and has an establishment on the northwestern edge of the island called Tropus Town.

Stratus City: The heart of the Stratospheric Domain, Stratus City is a huge cloud city that is inhabited by all manners of ponies, largely because the roads and buildings are enchanted so that they can be walked upon by those who do not have wings. Hot air balloons periodically take people from Stratus City to Tropo Town, New Saddle, Hoofington, Ponyville, Canterlot, and many other places in Equestria and beyond. For this reason, Stratus City is like the Atlanta, Georgia, of Equestria and beyond - with Stratus City being the hub through which ponies from different parts of the world go to other parts of the world. The capitol of the city, Nimbus Palace, lies in the northeastern part of the city, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
