The map was released in August 2011, before the MLP Movie (2017) and even Season 2 (September 2011)

If it helps, the differences from canon are because this map is quite old. It's from 2011, and predates Season 2, the canon maps and most of the canon countries -- that's why the griffins are northwest of Equestria instead of to its west, or why there's not Yakyakistan or Crystal Empire.

Scence 1: First Atom Bomb, “The Alpha Test”

Off the coast of the Equestrian mainland, a large boat stood motionless, its only movements being pushed by the rough sea. The night was quiet, and the dimmest of stars shined brightly. 20 kilometers from that ship, the SRN (Soviet Republic Navy) Westran was a metal sphere 30 meters below the water. The ship was busy, with many of the ponies that were stationed there where racing to their positions. A voice, deep and blunt spoke into the microphone on the ship.

“Detonation in t-minus 5 minutes”. A green flare was fired from the ship’s bow, signaling that countdown had begun. Below the deck, General Shining Armor leaned on one of the railings. “So, how big is this blast going to be?” Another pony spoke up from the hallway across from Shining Armor, “38 kilotons, 38 thousand tons of TNT. It will most diffidently make a flash greater than that of the Sun that capitalist scum raises everyday that is for sure!” he said in an angry tone as he finished the sentence. Shining Armor used his magic to place a pair of dark googles over his eyes, and began to walk up the cold metal stairs. “Where are you going sir” the other pony asked while looking confused. Shining Armor simply gave a chuckle and turned around to look at the other pony. “I am going on deck to watch the bomb go off, I want to see the weapon that will give us our independence.”
Shining Armor walked up the metal stairs leading to the Westran’s deck. Many ponies where talking near the bow of the ship. On the bow was Joseph Stallion himself. The voice yelled in the microphone again, “Detonation in t-minus 1 minute and counting!”. A green flare was shot in the dark sky. On the Equestrian mainland, one of the guards noticed the flare and called for another guard.
“This is Elevated Post 7 reporting flares being fired from what appears to be a unknown ship in close proximity of the castle over.” Another voice, this time from a mare answered back, “Copy that, I am alerting the Princesses and the Royal Guard. Thank you.” The guardsmen looked at the ship now, not moving at all.
On the Westran the ship fired it’s last flare, a bright orange org shot into the air before exploding much like a firework. “T-minus 30 seconds, put on googles or turn away.” Shining Armor checked if he had the black googles on, and waited. “T-minus 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3” Shining Armor froze, and time seemed to move slower. The unicorn breathed in deeply. “2” the unicorn tightened his grip on the railing and closed his large eyes. “1” Shining Armor opened his eyes and breathed out.
Princess Celestia teleported the guards post as fast as she could. Then before she could speak a word a bright flash swallowed the place. Celestia, being an alicorn was fine with the bright flash, but the guard fell on the ground in pain as he lost his eyesight for the rest on his life. Celestia’s face was filled with a mix of fear and aw. The bright light, witch was a colorful orange changed into a ball as a large shockwave extended from the water. As the light died down, a cloud looking a lot like a large mushroom took the place of the ball and large rings formed above the head of the mushroom. A few seconds later, a godly roar, enough to scare the Princess of the Sun shook the area like a horrible earthquake. Many nearby ponies in the town of Canterlot woke up due to the large flash of light that swallowed the area. The “earthquake” destroyed many of the structures in the city and the trees in the Evergreen forest began to burn. The guard stood up, but ran into Celestia. “I can’t see, after the flash, my eyes burnt! I CAN’T SEE!” he yelled at the end. Celestia asked the guard a simple question, “You said something about seeing a ship, where is that ship so I fly near it to see who it belongs to.” The guard responded, “Over there” trying to get back to his position, “That ship over there, the flash originated about 10 kilometers from the ship on the east side.” Celestia’s heart was beating faster than ever before. She turned around to walk back to the other end of the guard tower. “Thank you” she said with a calm tone, but deep down she knew that blast had more energy than her and Princess Luna’s magical power combined. She looked at the ship for a second and took off the platform to get a closer look.
The ponies of the SRN Westran also had mixed emotions on there faces. Joseph Stallion stared at the large crater that resulted from the blast, and smiled. His words where crisp and blunt, “It worked.” The other ponies around the leader looked at him, he then turned to face the entire crew. “Today is great day, the day that will be remembered as the day that the Union of Soviet Equestrian Republics has shown that it has the ability to win its independence no matter what.” However as the Soviet leader was talking, Shining Armor noticed a white alicorn in the sky about 1 kilometer from the ship and just stared at the alicorn. Then he looked at Stallion. “Sir sorry to interrupt, but, we have company that does not look very happy at all.” Joseph Stallion looked up and noticed the Solar Princess above the ship. The strong earth pony turned around to face her, “So, you imperialist bastard, what do you want!” Celestia just ate his words and landed down on the bow of the ship, anger on her face.
“What did you do to me ponies, you have blinded them, destroyed them, and have caused the worst civil unrest Equestria has ever seen in thousands of years in a few short seconds. What did you do!” Joseph Stallion snickered, and slowly walked to the edge of the railing and turned the face the solar princess, his eyes pierced deep into her soul. “Well, you know how your sun keeps itself lit 24/7 do you? We have turned that energy into the core idea in the making a bomb.”
Celestia just stood there on the deck of the ship, she turned her head to the blast, the mushroom cloud reached its peak altitude. The cloud was no longer rising, but however was growing into a darker color as the head of the cloud expanded. The Solar Princess, one of the strongest beings in all of Equestria began to cry. The tears came out fast, and she looked at Shinning Armor in the eye. “How could do something like this, you have created a weapon that can annihilate an entire city.” Her tone suddenly changed into a tone of piercing anger, “You could of destroyed Canterlot or even worst, harm Ponyville!”

Back when the wiki for this was still up, it said that the Lost World is the world behind the Lay Lines, which were walls of pure energy that would cause you to atomize on contact.  The Echo is impossible to map out due to the fact that the mountains that make it up are always moving.
