Anahita is one of the oldest inhabitants of Aster Village. Born in the Easternmost part of the Great Lake, the Politoed has met a ton of travelers on her way to Aster. As a Poliwhirl, she used to travel across the continent, learning other cultures while embracing her own. When she evolved into a Politoed, she had a small strand of hair that split into four, and when it grew long enough, she wrapped it around a King's Rock-- the same King's Rock that she evolved with. What looks like a head of hair on her is actually just four long strands wrapped around a King's Rock. Many Poli-line Pokemon regard her as a Guardian of The Forest, due to the sheer length of her curl!

Although she is a kind old frog, her fascination is most grim: she embraces death, and shows a great interest in learning the many different methods and techniques on ceremonial buryings. (If you ask her politely, she will even teach you a few of them!) She believes that, in order to achieve nirvana and gain Rebirth into a new body, your previous body has to be presented to who she calls "Gabriel", the harbinger of death, in a certain way. If it is not, then Gabriel will reject you, causing you to come back not as a living, breathing being, but as a Ghost.

Anahita is the owner of the Cemetery Orchard, a small-scale forest in which is Northwest from the Village's centermost point. Her orchard's plants aren't your usual plants, though: each body prepared for burial by Anahita are buried with a Seed, which is then planted into the ground. If the plant that sprouts is a normal Berry Plant, then it means that the original body's owner had their ceremony properly executed, but if the plant ends up being a Phantump, then it is casted away. Anahita doesn't hate Ghost types, but she would rather keep her Orchard free of apparitions.

The friendly Politoed is a charity worker, and gives away her harvested Berries to both hungry Pokemon and the local soup kitchen.

My Sheila would probably have a fun time if she met Anahita XD
She just sorta fell on a rock and splatted into a million blobs. 10/10 best ceremonial burial

It took me a few attempts, because originally, her hair was a huge tangled nest of the stuff , which wouldn't pass our guidelines. (I wanted to show her age using her long "curls".) I'm glad that I got the suggestion to wrap her curls with a King' Rock, though!
