Later that night, after the sun sets and the Herd members, all saddened by the loss of Alex, lie down to sleep, Zoma walks through the den, eventually coming to the center, where Kamala was lying, still completely heartbroken. But, even though Alex was gone, Kamala could still feel some small amount of happiness, knowing that her son could be happy with his new friends. But even then, Zoma’s words to her still rung in her ears.
‘I HAVE NO SON!!!’

Meanwhile, as Zoma approached his mate and noticed her still upset, he placed a consoling paw on her shoulder for comfort.

However, Kamala’s only reply to her husband, or rather, as she now saw him, the one responsible for the banishment of her son, is to glare angrily at him in disgust, before furiously smacking away his paw and letting out an angry growl of hostility.

Before the Alpha Lion could reply, a loud thundering noise sounds - just outside the den’s entrance!
