Description
This is my part of an art trade with EmilyTheMeowth . This is her bunshark character, Nilla, who loves baking. I'm not crazy about how the fingers came out, and the perspective isn't the most consistent but I tried. Sorry this took a long time; even after school ended, there hasn't been a lot of free time for me to work on this. Anyways, I hope you like it!Her part of the trade:

Thank you, and I'm glad you love it! <3 I originally wanted to draw buttercups in the background, but opted for an oven when I realized I had nowhere to put them D:

Wow, I can see why this took forever. You drew everything, and when it comes to traditional art, that takes a lot of time. Personally, I think the background is one of the most important parts of a picture, and I love it when people implement good backgrounds. It tells a story about the character being drawn, and gives the viewer an idea on the personality and/or ideas of the character. Backgrounds aren’t necessary for a good piece of art, but I do think that it is always supplemental to an art piece. (It sadly just takes forever to do. XD)
So great job on this one.

Thanks! Backgrounds are very tiring, but I made one for this character since it would've looked weird without it. Over the last five years actually, doing art in general has tired me out more and more, even when it's relatively simple. In 2014, I was able to draw and color shaded requests EVERY DAY and feel fine. Today, I can't draw for ten minutes without feeling like I need a break xD I think it's just that I'm getting old.

Yes they are.
Don’t we all?! XD I’m honestly surprised sometimes at the energy of some the older people I meet at the retirement home I work at. Of course it always the ones who want to escape the building that have so much energy. With all the “interesting” stuff that happens there, I can always say that there’s never a dull day at Alexian.
