"Just to live one day out there"day 10 of Sketchtavern's February Draw-a-day brings me to one of Disney's (in my opinion) darkest Animated Feature.
Disney's 1996 Animated Feature The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Judge Frollo would probably have to be one of Disney best Villains, and by best I mean most evil. EVIL!

I'll say. I honestly think THAT film wasn't worthy of a G rating. Some of the themes were not for kids!
Give a PG rating instead.

Oh, the part where he's crowned the King of Fools was the worst part for me. Kids should't watch that on their own.

not particularly that part, in my opinion.
it was the part when the evil priest was harassing Esmeralda at knife point and saying something like: "I'm just wonder how a rope would look around your beautiful neck." And then she jake away from him saying: "I know what you're thinking!" *gee i wonder what he was thinking...*
Then there was the part when that crazy priest was singing that song saying big words like 'Hell', and he seen images of Esmeralda in the flames dancing all seductive and stuff.
not to mention the part when she's all dancing like a stripper on the pole.
The whole point is that it was PG-ish and not G-ish. Still a good movie anyway.

haha, ah yes those parts were not particularly G Rated. I was wondered how Disney got away with giving the evil guy such a strong perverted attitude towards Esmerelda. Though I guess they could say that it was a display or desire rather than perversion..

I like the viewpoint and the angle and your style is near perfect as usual.
I have to disagree on the villain part though. Frollo's evil alright, but the most EVIL and by far the most awesome Disney villain would have to be the Horned King from Black Cauldron. You should do something related to that flick.

This movie was pretty dark-although I was DEFINATELY too young to understand it. I was laughing at times I wasn't suppose to. Nicely done though.
I'm still a bit disturbed after I finally discovered that the old decrepit gargoyle was actually female!

I just watched Hunchback for the first time in 10 years the other day (scared me too badly the first time, so I never finished it) and I thought it was definitely one of Disney's best films (in terms of animation/artwork, anyway). And I agree, Frollo is the best villain ever. And he has the coolest themesong.
But anyway. Quasi looks excellent here and I love the composition! I've been seeing a lot of your Disney interpretations lately and they all look spiffy!

I really believe this is one of the most infuriating movies I have ever watched, especially because it's from Disney. I mean, the gipsy-whose-name-i-forgot chose for the handsome guy instead of quasimodo. I was really disappointed that the movie didn't show that even the ugly can get romantic love.

Yeah, I agree this was one of the more dark Disney films. And Frollo is the most truly evil Disney villain.
The Black Cauldron is also pretty dark -- and bleak. I don't know if that's because it kind of sucks or something else. (Sorry, Black Cauldron fans. The movie isn't that good. But keep loving it -- it loves you back.)

I remember when I heard they were making this. I thought "Victor Hugo is depressing! Is Disney going to change it like Little Mermaid? Oh, it has Tony Jay in it!"

your Disney caharacters are all very well drawn but one your own style is clearly visible in the way its done
