THIS IS SUBJECT AND MOST LIKELY TO CHANGE AFTER I'VE PLAYED DRAGON AGE 2The closer we get to DA2's release, the more I like playing around with the fact Hawke and Amell!Warden are related somehow, since Legam is my main canon Warden. This family tree is making a lot of assumptions on my part, including assuming Hawke and Amell are first cousins. And that only half the Amell tree apparently has a thing for marrying into Rivaini families, so that Legam's heritage makes more sense without me having to make Hawke mostly Rivaini too.
I kept Hawke's family close to how they appear as the defaults, with some tweaks. His father I based on Default Hawke's hair as a bit of a homage.
However the family tree ends up, this does retcon my Legam backstory, Laurel Leaves - so that's now alternate universe instead of my "official" head!canon. How far I have to tweak it, I don't know yet. We'll see how much DA2 reveals on that front. Not much, I'm betting - I'll probably have a lot of room to work with.
Once I've played through as Declan at least once and learned more about the other branches of the Amell family, I'll either update this sketch or make a new, more up-to-date family tree. Possibly more elaborate and fancy than this one.
As far as I know, Hawke's father hasn't been publically named by the Bioware devs, so he remains "Papa Hawke" for now.

Some of us are awesome, some of us are jackasses. 
And in terms of dialect differences, heck - even in the States, there's a lot of variety. I'm originally from New York and my boyfriend is from southern California, and he teases me for calling shopping carts "carriages" - but that's what we called them where I was from, so anything else seems strange to me.

When you get into the Amell masnion in DA2 you find a letter saying that one of the amells ahd a child taken away to the circle tower.

I know. I talked to Leandra during my Declan play about it. I'll eventually doing an updated family tree, since Declan and Legam are second cousins. I have a rough of it laid out, but I have other projects to complete first.

I was happy/shocked to find that the Amells are nobility especially since in my DA Origins comic my mage warden mentions coming from nobility and here I thought I would have ennded up making it up.

I liked learning more about their family tree, yes. I need to redo this at some point, but I have other artwork to do first.

If/when I get this game my main warden will be related to hawke too, mine however looks sort of like the 8th doctor (who), my hawke I was considering making look like charles xavier.....yeah i'm not original, my Commander shepard looks close to captain america due to the comic being next to me haha awesome picture anyway

I'll be making an accurate/updated version of this soon. I've played DA2 and found out Hawke and Warden Amell are second cousins, and that Amell's mother was named Revka, and Legam was one of at least a few siblings.

Love it! Damn, I have to make an Amell to feel more 'in family' when playing DA2
I approve so much of Papa Hawke and Deblan - he looks SO badass.
Also I love how you kept physical features, they look of the same family, but each one different and with an unique personality. I love how much Legam resembles to his dad

Declan's been fun to draw so far, but his look is subject to change after I make him in-game. I'm hoping the demo coming out on the 23rd includes the character creator, because then I have some extra time to fully tweak his look. Not to mention that the mirror DLC enables you to change Hawke's looks during the game, so I might have him "work up" to the beard and just start off with a little stubble.
And I love how much Legam looks like his dad too - but he's still got his mother's nose.
