Website | Store | PatreonRelatively quick light and color study for the first on my upcoming series of dragon paintings . Fairly happy with the lighting, though it'll be a bit of a process to tighten it all up for the final piece, and i do want to make the composition a little more interesting without getting too messy. This is a little bigger than 4"x6", the final will probably be 9"x12"
Probably a working title, i'm not sure. I was going to paint him displaying his nice plumage for the ladies, but he's looking like more of a sunbather.

This is Stonehenge paper (fawn color)
I've used Mi-Teintes a bit, but it's a little too thin and heavily textured for my liking.

Does anybody else see a grassy/mossy scarecrow with a witch hat?
It looks like a sad scarecrow the branch that the dragon is sitting on
