Description [EDIT : NOW UPGRADED WITH EPIC NEW LINEART AND COLORS THANKS TO THE AWESOME AND RESPECTIVELY. 8D ]

ALSO NOW WITH DANMAKU STATS PUT IN, SEE THE END OF DESCRIPTION FOR INFO]

Theme music: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Iikvh…

The bane of main characters everywhere, and more than often the OTHER side as well.

Two characters who are renowned above all others in the art of being the supreme badasses of trolling-and Hazama doesn't count, as he's just an IMMENSE DICK.

Shu Shirakawa, the man said to have a phD in the art of badass, who has spent his career utterly terrifying the living bejeezus out of every Super Robot Wars player who has EVER heard the Dark Prison theme begin to play, thereby turning a supposedly simple stage into a nightmare of tactics and 'OHSHITOHSHITOHSHITWHYISHEHERE'.

Yukari Yakumo, the otherworldly Honorable Sage who moves through the background of Gensokyo, the undisputed mastermind behind the day to day running of the Eastern Wonderland, youkai of the boundaries, and the one who appears solely to crush any and all those who threaten the land she watches over.

Both known for appearing at thoroughly unexpected moments, and both known for their arrivals signalling IMMENSE AMOUNTS OF PAIN AND SUFFERING for one or both sides of any conflict.

Their motives known only to them, and the true degree of their machinations only ever truly discovered on the moment they finally enact their endgames...

...it was only a matter of time before the man at the heart of Shin Neo Granzon and the lady who rules the boundaries of existence finally met.

And when they did, the single most terrifying alliance in the multiverse may have been formed.

Because as it turns out, those of a similar mindset DO attract. Or at least get along quite well.

As a result, the midnight blue colossus of gravity has been spotted in the realms of Gensokyo from time to time, Dr. Shirakawa on his way to...whatever the hell it is he does in his meetings with the border youkai.

Likewise have reports come in to La Gias of a strange, gold-haired woman being spotted in the company of the elusive doctor, with powers said to rival even that of the fearsome Shin Neo Granzon he pilots.

As to the question of just HOW close these two are connected, no-one's yet been suicidal or insane enough to ask.

On the other hand, even if you did ask them, what are the chances of EITHER of them giving you a straight answer?

Or at least, one that doesn't end with the words "Abandoned Line: Aimless Journey to the Abandoned Station~!" or "Black Hole Cluster...HASHA!"

...yeah, didn't think so. T^T

Danmaku Modes:

Granzon A (normal): With Yukari's power over borders, the Granzon's attacks can now outright ignore special defenses, hitting every target for true damage regardless of magical or technological protection. In addition to that, Yukari herself takes a direct role by using her gaps to redirect some attacks into more vulnerable points on the target. A tremendous field surrounds the Granzon as well, automatically slowing down anything caught in it and allowing it to easily circumnavigate even the most intense crossfires without so much as a scratch.

Granzon B (Focused): Transforming into the monstrous Shin Neo Granzon, Shu's mastery of his machine's terrifying power is all too obvious here. Myriad calculations have allowed him to mesh the powerful gravitational control of the Granzon with Yukari's gaps to automatically return over 50% of enemy attacks directly to their source, and all dealing the same flat damage as the Shin Neo Granzon's normal attacks. In addition to this, the immense distortion surrounding the Granzon no longer slows enemy attacks, but instead, merely blunts them, reducing all damage taken by 75%.

*Note: These percentages may well be increased even further, however, their sense of whimsy has led to them leaving it at that level, as it's not quite as much fun if the other team doesn't have at least SOME chance...*

**SPECIAL**
Spellcards: Like many of the other teams, this terrifying alliance also has access to such techniques, combining both youkai and mecha moves into devastating expressions of power. UNLIKE other teams, however...Shu and Yukari have added a special flair of their own. With every Spell Break successfully achieved against it...the Shin Neo Granzon has a 50% recurring chance of instantly reusing the same spellcard at no additional cost.

----------------------------

Another picture from my Armored Gensokyo fic, this one for the ever enigmatic Yakumo Yukari, and the always ominous Shu Shirakawa!

...because seriously, these two fit together so well, WHY HAS NO-ONE ELSE DONE THIS IN WRITING BEFORE

And yes. Granzon A and B are simply Normal and Focused modes. Yes, Shu is broken like that. AND YUKARI PROBABLY DIDN'T HELP MUCH ON THAT ACCOUNT EITHER.

My Armored Gensokyo works can be found here: magnumphoenixzx.deviantart.com…

Check it out for more antics involving the greatest Armored Core of them all, and his encounter with THE STRONGEST fairy of Gensokyo!

See you there!

Me too!

Since that last Nineball pic showed how AMAZING cel-shading was, with 's help, I'm trying to get that used from now on.

Plus, not only are they similar in terms of character and personality, Shu and Yukari's color schemes just...MESH so well!

In truth, took care of coloring the two of them, but I was the one to color the Granzon in the background (Hooray, I'm learning to do digital! 8D ).

I just LOVE how this came out!

Oh god. So many wormhole based possibilities...

You've never known pain until you've been sent through two wormholes long enough to reach terminal velocity, then launched at the nearest sharp object.

Gensokyo is officially screwed.

Read the rest of my chat with Harbinger, Watcher, it's all there. ^^

I've mentioned some of it from time to time, but never the whole thing. Not to mention the fact that it borrows heavily from my other work, the Omega Chronicles.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheDarkbreaker In reply to HarbingerOfTheWorld [2013-09-04 19:44:04 +0000 UTC]

Well it's not like the mother could be Hellsing Alucard's female personality, right?

...right?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

HarbingerOfTheWorld In reply to TheDarkbreaker [2013-09-04 19:50:24 +0000 UTC]

Well, that would explain why Flandre is so powerful...

But that explanation has one terrifying fact to it.

Female Alucard would have had to come to Gensokyo at some point, which means one of two things:

Somewhere in Gensokyo, the remains of an Alucard rampage exists,

Or Alucard is still somewhere in Gensokyo.

And I don't know which is worse.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheDarkbreaker In reply to HarbingerOfTheWorld [2013-09-04 20:43:51 +0000 UTC]

Well, considering my plan involved Girlycard x Omega, resulting in Flandre and Remilia way before they came to Gensokyo, look on the bright side!

It means that neither of those two options is a big worry!

...on the downside, that is a helluva scary bloodline.

For the record, also, this is Alucard from...way before he encountered Van Helsing in Hellsing, and for another, I hold firmly that Girlycard is an ENTIRELY SEPARATE PERSONALITY altogether, and is independent of the real Alucard.

If I wanted to REALLY make things scary, I might even give her a name of her own, to further differentiate her from simply being a female Alucard, and opening the way for god knows what kind of Omega/genderbent Alucard trauma.

I like the name Evangeline.

What do you think?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

HarbingerOfTheWorld In reply to TheDarkbreaker [2013-09-04 20:57:05 +0000 UTC]

That is a pretty nice name.

Wait, Girlycard and OMEGA!? ARE YOU MAD!?

Did you feel that? That was the Universe shuddering in pure terror.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheDarkbreaker In reply to HarbingerOfTheWorld [2013-09-04 21:06:08 +0000 UTC]

IT MAKES SENSE, DAMN ME

Fact: In terms of vampiric tendencies, Remilia is the one shown to have that the most, whereas Flandre is shown mostly for her more destructive powers. Seriously, when was the last time you saw anything with Flandre that involved her acting more like a vampire, and less like...well, a Goddess of Destruction.

Fact: Remilia behaves and acts like a proper vampire should, Flandre...well, see above.

Fact: Flandre has gold hair and red eyes, Omega has gold hair and red eyes...well, he did, but then the gold bleached out to white.

Fact: Remilia constantly likes to portray herself as 'the descendant of Dracula', which historically, doesn't quite match up with the actual timeline...UNLESS IT WAS THE ALUCARD FROM HELLSING, who has been around quite a bit more, in who knows how many forms.

...and now, a bonus fact!

Fact: Based on all of the above, what does that say about Rumia, who has gold hair, red eyes, and EATS PEOPLE? Oh and coincidentally, also debuted in the same game as Remilia and company?

Genetics are a WONDERFUL thing, aren't they?

Seems as though Vampirism and Destruction can be either dominant or recessive traits, and sometimes, in the case of Rumia, mix!

8D

...and that was an insight into the kind of mind that thinks up a concept like Armored Gensokyo and then proceeds to kick ass with it. 8'D

I am a terrible person. TTUTT

HarbingerOfTheWorld In reply to TheDarkbreaker [2013-09-04 21:20:33 +0000 UTC]

O_O

OH SHIT! IT DOES WORK! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! SAVE YOURSELF!

It's official: The thought of Flandre being Omega and Girlycard's child is more terrifying than the thought of Yukari getting the Astranagant and fighting alongside Shu.

And no, you're awesome! How else would you have made both this and The Omega Chronicles?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheDarkbreaker In reply to HarbingerOfTheWorld [2013-09-04 21:32:31 +0000 UTC]

Touche!

...also, at risk of making it worse, it's not just Omega Zero...

It's the OMEGA CHRONICLES OMEGA ZERO.

THAT'S RIGHT.

After all, what good is it me writing so many fics without having a little fun trading between them? :3

Don't worry, it's not going to be a crossover...but within the next story arc of the Chronicles, Omega will be temporarily REMOVEDΒ  from the Chronicles for a few arcs, on account of a final, devastating clash in Cyberspace, with no-one knowing where he ended up.

The only clue you'll get to all of this, is him waking up to encounter a peculiar woman in a violet dress, looking surprised at his appearance...several dozen years before Gensokyo is sealed off.

You won't get to see what happens after that, but it will be hinted at in Armored G when I begin to go into the history and story of the Scarlets, and will be hinted at by Omega himself when he finally returns to the Chronicles.

So yeah...there's going to be a mysterious gap explaining where and what Omega was doing in that time, and many years later, in Armored Gensokyo, you might get some clues. :3

...and also, considering '9' is based on a MUGEN character...did you know that there is also a character called Astranalent?

:3

Namely, a sprite recolor of Len from Tsukihime/Melty Blood...with the Astranagant's moveset.

HMMMMM.

WHAT COULD THIS POSSIBLY IMPLY?

8D

8D

Armored Gensokyo's future: Where the bloodline of Nineball Seraph and Cirno meets the bloodline of Ingram Plisken and Len.

AND TOGETHER THEY FIGHT CRIME

8D

It's gonna be beautiful, bro.

Well, once tsuntsun, precocious Astranalent gets over her defeat at the hands of the more withdrawn, machine-minded 9.

:3

And yes indeed, that's where it was going. Because F*CK YEAH, ACE PHOENIX! Setting readers up for the ultimate in plot twists since...ever.
