Hey everyone!
Whoa, it's been FOREVER since I last posted any actual artwork. Jeez, shame on me.
ANYWHO, I don't know if any of you guys have read my latest journal, but I'm a HUGE fan of "Rise of the Guardians" and I've seen many of people's own OCs and I figured "Eh, what the hell? I'll create my own." SO here we have it! I've finally started drawing my characters! Yay!

Well, this here is the first of the characters. This is Asima, pretty much the guardian version of myself. Yes, I'm well aware that she looks a bit like a guy and very similar to Jack, but if you read all her information below, it'll make a whole lot more sense. Also, I'd like to give credit to my RP friend for coming up with the name.

Responsibilities: To protect children from any sort of danger, even if it means overcoming fears and putting her on life on the line. Also, she encourages others to do the same; to protect their loved ones from harm and to not give into fear so easily.
Association with a Symbol?: Her symbol for which her immortal gift from MiM is caged in is, believe it or not, an icy butterfly with black spots. The butterfly is a symbol of the transformation of the human soul into something magical and more knowledgeable and, considering Amanda went through a HUGE change in both appearance and personality, the butterfly has been associated with her.

Physical Description: In her past life, Amanda had dirty blond hair with blue eyes and peach-colored skin. As a child, ages six through thirteen, she kept her hair rather long until she finally chose to cut it short at age fourteen. She used to wear bright colorful clothing up until she got into the eighth grade, for which she began to wear darker clothing; earning the stereotypical title of being “gothic” or “punk”. Starting in the seventh grade, she began to grow her nails rather long and they became a prominent feature of hers’. She also had to start wearing glasses at age thirteen. When she became Asima, she no longer required the use of glasses considering the change had altered her senses, particularly her vision. Her skin tone became extremely pale and her veins blackened; revealing themselves along her entire body. Her hair turned white with black streaks, her eyes changed to a cool blue with black limbal rings, and all her clothing, when put on her, would darken and frost would grow along the edges. Considering she never feels cold, she doesn’t require the use of socks nor shoes, hence the reason she’s never seen wearing any. She’s always seen with her scythe and, on the day she was finally given the title of being a guardian, her darkened self, Misery, presented her with a black worn-out cloak for which she’s worn ever since.
Markings?: None. The only distinct features of hers' are her blackened veins.

Association with a season?: Winter. She obviously isn’t the Spirit of Winter (considering that’s one of the occupations of Jack Frost), but she’s the one who creates black ice.

Personality: In both her past life and life as a guardian, she’s a caring and loveable soul who is willing to help people in need, whether it be children or adults. She has a wild sense of humour and likes to have fun; always wanting to see the bright side of things as opposed to the bad. She’s also one hell of a fighter; she won’t back down when trying to get something she wants. Her attitude can sometimes be sarcastic, but she means well and always does it jokingly. And when it comes to protecting the ones she loves dearly, she’ll do anything in her power to keep them safe.

Good Habits: She makes promises towards people and swears to keep them, living up to them to the best of her ability.
Bad Habits: She makes promises towards people and swears to keep them, but sometimes she fails to live up to them; she throws herself into dangerous situations to protect others.

Likes: Art, books, movies, make-belief creatures, spending time alone, people with good lively attitudes, and people with active imaginations.
Dislikes: Spiders, heights, rude ignorant people, bullies, people with bad attitudes, and anyone who messes with people close to her.

Hobbies: Drawing, sketching, painting, writing both stories and poems, swimming (in her past life), and reading.

Powers/Abilities: She’s capable of freezing anything she touches. She can blast black ice from her hands and, using her scythe, whenever she swings it, sheets of ice fly from the blade. Using enough stable energy while holding her scythe (which normally happens whenever she gets extremely angry), she can conjure up enough power to create a huge blast of ice that can and will freeze anything around her. The ice that she produces spreads like a virus when it comes in contact with something, but doesn’t overly hurt anyone unless she makes it do so. She also has the ability to fly.

Weapon of Choice: A scythe.

Dreams/Longs for: Ever since she got resurrected, she’s longed to be seen by others, particularly her family. Fortunately, she didn’t lose her memories when she was brought back to life by MiM, but she has to live with the fact that she has a family that is unable to see her and is desperately wondering where she is and if she’s alright. She can only hope that one day she’ll get them to see her.

Background: Ever since she was a little girl, Amanda was a believer and no matter what her friends said about the guardians, she never stopped believing. In fact, she even told her friends otherwise; that the guardians did exist. When her brothers came into her life, she made them believe as well and they have ever since. At a young age, she always dreamt of her wedding day and of what it would be like. She wanted to be loved by another desperately, but when she got into middle school, everything took a turn. She immediately lost interest in searching for a boyfriend and she began to believe that she would never be loved by another, that she’d be alone forever. Truth is, she didn’t want to be loved; she wanted to be alone. She became a loner and, even when she found out that two guys loved her, she pushed them away easily. But then, one day, she met Jack Frost…and everything immediately changed. Something inside her clicked and caused her to actually start having feelings towards him. Also, she began to hang out with the guardians; no longer being a loner.
One day, it was revealed that Pitch still wanted to claim Jack and Amanda, being the protector she is, wasn’t going to allow that to happen. Without Jack knowing, she went and confronted Pitch and was willing to sacrifice herself; take Jack’s place instead. Pitch willingly turned her evil, but when Amanda tried to harm Jack, she was unable to, for her feelings for him were far greater than the evil corrupting her. The darkness within her simply ended up creating an evil version of herself, Misery, who lived deep in her mind; able to switch places with Amanda at will. Eventually, Misery was released from Amanda’s mind and became a whole being. Fast forward and Misery grew hatred towards Amanda once again. She tried to force darkness into her, to turn her into an unstoppable being consumed by darkness, but was unable to; only a small amount of darkness getting into her. It was revealed later on that that darkness lingered deep within Amanda’s body and gave her only enough power to create a lethal weapon: a small black rod that could morph into a scythe. Later both Misery and Amanda each adopted a severely abused child: Misery adopted a boy named Sasha while Amanda took a young girl named Keiko. Amanda did everything she could to keep Keiko from getting hurt ever again, but on March 26th 2010, Sasha and Keiko had gone out to the exact same lake that Jack had died in and the ice had been cracking. Quickly, Amanda came to the rescue and managed to get Keiko to safety, but for a price: giving up her own life to save another. Just like how Jack died, Amanda drowned in the frozen lake. Considering she had demonstrated how special she was (since she was always a strong believer) and of how she had protected the ones she loved, MiM resurrected her as Asima with a very similar appearance that Jack had. But, considering she had died with some darkness within her, both her appearance and abilities were altered slightly; making her a combination of both cold and dark. It’s for this reason why Pitch is after her; Asima’s the ultimate weapon for fear and darkness.
