First drawing in a series on Disney Women I did (have decided to store the others). Since I'm a big fan of The Little Mermaid (more so the fairy tale than the movie, but it's still one of my favorites among "The Disney's" as well) I started off with Ariel (trying to do my own take on her without dropping those typical characteristics from how I could remember them). Why I like Ariel is because she's ready to give EVERYTHING up for a chance to lead the life she desires AND be with the person she loves (I know those, in particular, are what makes a lot of people dislike this story from a "being a role model" PoV, but I just don't agree with that at all. That girl wanted those legs before Eric came into the picture. Then, as libido struck and a lot of drama consequently was stirred up, as many a teenager would, she went about going after them in a drastic and impulsive way. But, at the end of the day, she also ALWAYS knew where she truly belonged). She's of course also stunning with her red hair and those huge blue eyes. And "Part of Your World" (I, personally, grew up with swedish version by Sissel Kyrkjebø) is just... SO SWEET.
