Flickerman
History: Flickerman was created during a phase in Dr. Light’s existence where he was attempting to travel to and access alternate dimensions, but was eventually cast away as a failure. The dimension drive that Flickerman was built around never worked properly and Light eventually became convinced that traveling to alternate worlds was a fools game anyway. Afterwards, Protoman-L would adopt the discarded bot, seeing a bit of himself in him, and, after all, every Hero needs a sidekick.
Though the dimension drive couldn’t pierce the veil between worlds, it did allow Flickerman limited teleportation and intangibility by allowing him to legitimately be in two places at the same time. When activated, it darkens his color pallet and calls up shadowy copies of him which generally mimic his movements after a delay or directly mirror him in combat. He calls them his ‘after-images’.
Abilities:
The Flicker Combo: Teleports across the screen to deliver a three hit combo, ending in a somersault kick
The Flicker Blast: Runs across the bottom of the screen to create three after-images, then rushes his enemy to deliver a punch, each after-image follows suit with every punch growing more powerful until the last creates a small shockwave
Mirror Strike: Copies himself and rushes to the side of the screen to charge back towards the center as the copy does the same, their collision creates a massive shockwave
Black Tide: Slides across the bottom of the screen, filling it with after-images and then leaps into the air to deliver a powerful uppercut
Comet Drop: Leaps into the air and performs a somersault kick before sliding across the ground, leaves behind five after-images.
White Black Rondo: after losing one full health bar, Flickerman will split himself in two, one pure white, one pure black, each with occupy one side of the screen and mirror the other’s attacks, slamming into each other to create small shockwaves and randomly swapping sides every few seconds
Reward for Defeat: Cherry Bomb [cannon augmentation] (if the fight last more than three minutes, or you manage to deplete half of Flickerman’s first health bar, whichever comes first, Bass’s buster cannon will transform into its shotgun form and allow you to do more damage to him for the rest of the fight)
