He was previously a boring side character to another side character, bUUUUUUUT, SOMETIME AGO, a couple years, I think????? I ended up making a Pirate AU for him and then another side character for a side character followed aND THEN I JUST MADE THEM PIRATES CANONICALLY BECAUSE IT FIT THEM BETTER.
