Description
The herd had been moving southward for awhile, a large opening between them and better feeding grounds. The adults were on edge. This was prime hunting territory for Carnotaurs, but they had to press on. Tamara was the first to notice the sibling Carnotaurs rushing towards them. Too fast for the herd to flee, she quickly called formation. Gatcha and Chronus quickly pulled the young towards the center of the herd. Dust becan to kick up quickly as the herd scrambled to a defective circle around those too small to keep the circle.

Ehyr kept close to Corrin and Smirch, as well as tro his adoptive mother, Tamara. it wasn't long before the two Carnotaurs reached the circle. A wall of long nasal horns keeping them at bay, preventing them from reaching the tasty morsels of juvenile styracosaurs the herd was desperate to protect. As they circled, mock lunges kept them from getting too close to openings, as one of them tried to exploit a hole the other had made, Tamara quickly lunged forward to close off the hole.

The pair decided that the herd was too strong to be worth the hunt, and broke off back towards the horizon. The herd was safe, for now.

This defensive position is certainly effective, and watching it in action is a perfect way to learn the best way to execute it. After all, it wouldn't be long before Ehyr was old enough to be part of the wall, rather than the center.

I've been sitting on this piece for a little bit, but it's finally time to post it. Here we have Thunder and Nes attacking a herd of Styracosaurs, including the Young Ehyr, Corrin, and Smirch, who are being protected by Gatcha, Chronus, and Tamara.
