While transformed, Axl’s abilities and stats become that of the other character’s. Axl can return to normal by using any taunt

Neutral: Short Ranged Axl Bullet

Forward: slightly longer range Axl Bullet

Backward: Axl spins in the air creating small explosions around him

Upward: Axl summersaults spraying fire from his guns

Downward: Axl fires a missile straight down

Grab: Simple grab

Grab Attack: Axl hits the enemy with the butt of his gun

Forward Throw: Axl uses the Flame Burner against the target

Backward Throw: Axl dashes past the target and uses the Wind Cutter

Upward Throw: Axl ducks down and fires the Plasma Gun straight up

Downward Throw: Axl drops a Moving Wheel on the enemy that spins in place on them

Specials

Neutral Special – Axl Bullets: Axl’s signature and preferred weapon. While weak, the power of the Axl bullets lie in their speed and rapid-fire potential. Power can be increased by charging, but when fully charged, the Axl bullets become a whole new power. The Copy Shot. If the Copy Shot manages to land on an opponent, a cursor will appear on their damage counter. Until they die, Axl can use the power of his A-Trans to become them and use all of their abilities. If the enemy is killed while Axl is A-Transed, he won’t changed back, but will lose the A-Trans once he shifts back.

Side Special – Bound Blaster: A weapon Axl acquired from Earthrock Trilobyte. A richoceting blast of energy that will fly off in a random direction after making contact with an enemy, item, or terrain. Each projectile will bounce three times before going out and three projectiles can be on screen at a time.

Up Special – Jets: Built into Axl’s legs and back are jets that while not powerful enough for true flight, allows him to hover safely. Pressing up and b will have Axl take a strong jump, gaining height equal to about a double jump, with his jets firing. For a window of time, Axl will fall at a nearly non-existent rate allowing for easy maneuverability in the air.

Down Special – Volt Tornado: Axl will quickly equip his ray gun before summoning spiraling voltage around him. Holding down the button will keep the vortex around Axl, effectily protecting him from most melee attacks. Releasing the attack will cause the tornado to creep forward, sucking up and destroying items in its path.

Final Smash – Get DNA – Ninetails: Ninetails is a deadly reploid with a lot of power. Thanksfully, Axl defeated him in the past and acquired his DNA allowing the new generation to shift into him. Using the power of the Smash Ball, Axl has enough power to substain the transformation into Ninetails. After obtaining this new form, Axl will fire off swarms of tail shards in 9 random directions, dealing powerful and constant damage to those unlucky enough to be caught in path of these shards.

Snake Codec

Colonel: Snake, before you is a piece of next generation technology.

Snake: He doesn’t look so advanced. Not compared to the others like him.

Colonel: That’s only on the outside, what makes him unique is on the inside. Axl is equipped with the A-Trans system, allowing him to transform into his enemies. He’s arguably even better at infiltration than you Snake.

Snake: I find that a little hard to believe, even with the ability to change form.

Colonel: It’s more than just that Snake. By transforming he is seen as one of those he turns into, even by scans. He also gains access to their powers and abilities.

Snake: Well what triggers this?

Colonel: His pistols. A special shot from them will give him the power to transform into what it hits. So be careful.

Palutena Guidance

Viridi: Great, another one of those reploids.

Palutena: Not quite Viridi. He’s a whole new kind.

Pit: I don’t know Lady Palutena, looks like a normal kind to me.

Palutena: You can’t judge someone based on appearance Pit, you should know that.

Pit: Was that an insult?

Palutena: More a bit of extra guidance. Either way, Axl fights long range, making your Guardian Orbiters extremely helpful.

Viridi: But be careful, Axl has the power to shape shift if you let a special round hit you. At which case he will gain access to all your powers and abilities.

Pit: He can do that? Is that fair?

Palutena: All’s fair in love and war Pit. And Axl is defiantly ready for war.

Stage Information

Stage – Jakob Orbital Elevator: A massive structure built in the Galápagos Islands for the safety of humans in the face of rising Maverick attacks. Part of the Jakob Project, relocating humanity to the moon, this colossal elevator can easily bring reploids and resources from the surface of the planet to the moon. Fighters using it can only be off screened above on this simple stage but should be careful. For if the elevator begins to fall, there’s a chance of it hitting the bottom causing an instant KO on anyone standing on the platform.

Final Smash Trophy Description: Axl’s Final Smash. Over the coarse of adventures, Axl encountered a powerful and dangerous maverick modeled after the legendary kitsune, Ninetails. After Ninetails was defeated, Axl gained the power to transform into it, releasing a powerful wave of shards of his nine fearsome tails.

I am surprised there isn’t a little reference to Axl and Pit having the same voice in the Japanese version considering they kind of did a funny little voice acting reference with Snake with his codec on Sonic where they referenced Snake’s voice actor being the son of the voice actor of Eggman in Japan. The joke kind of flew above everyone’s heads in translation but it was mostly a Japanese reference.
