1 Riddler: “She says that, but… What have you accomplished, exactly? You haven’t really gained anything, as far as I can see.”
1 Joker: “Societal transformation. One more lasting than Ares managed; if limited to a single continent.”
2 Riddler: “What is it that you even want? I thought it was just to prove everyone was one bad experience away from being you.”
2 Joker: “That was Batman’s conclusion; and now it is widely shared.”
3 Riddler: “But it’s the wrong conclusion.”
3 Joker: “I didn’t say that.”
4 Riddler: “So... what? You’re muddying the waters? You don’t like being understood? So easily figured out?”
4 Joker: “Do you know what Superman says? ‘There is good, and there is evil, and it’s not difficult to tell the difference’.”
5 Riddler: “I’ve heard that.”
5 Joker: “Some people are beyond a single bad day. Or they overcame their bad day, and became a more noble person. Despite what I just said to Harlequin, I’ve come to realize, over the years, that some things are beyond my power. I can’t make Batman fall.”
6 Riddler: “You killed a Robin.”
6 Joker: “And morally, he remained unchanged. No, no matter what I do, I can’t compromise Batman. He proves the falsehood of my thesis, if only as a rare exception. I can’t corrupt or sully Batman. But I might be able to make him think that isn’t what I’m interested in.”
