1 Summer Gleeson: “Breaking news. Unconfirmed reports of the Joker’s true identity are circulating. The terrorist now plaguing all of North America is said to be a man named Jack Napier, a former military intelligence specialist once deployed overseas, and responsible for humanitarian abuses against detainees.”
2 Summer Gleeson: “We’re still trying to verify all the particulars, but have encountered no errors yet, and all civilian identification – from his first driver’s license to his social security number to parking tickets – have been verified as authentic; and have been found filed in accordance with the way the records were stored when they were created.”
3 Summer Gleeson: “As a young man, Napier was intelligent but unruly, and labelled a psychopath in a report by his school guidance counselor. He purportedly mistreated animals, lied pathologically, gaslit classmates, and showed no guilt or remorse for anything he did. The CIA saw something in him and recruited him for military intelligence gathering operations, eventually including ‘enhanced techniques’.”
4 Summer Gleeson: “Unlike Abu Ghraib or Bagram, Napier’s unethical activities were not discovered by the press. They were stopped, however, when an explosion from a truck-mounted dirty bomb rammed into the prison killed most of the other intelligence agents and freed several prisoners. Complaint reports from prisoners, while not taken seriously by the military, describe Napier as sadistic; demanding that they smile and converse pleasantly before and during his sessions. Napier was subjected to torture like he had dispensed, and his trademark ‘Glasgow smile’ was cut into his face at this time in retaliation for his own abuses.”
5 Summer Gleeson: “All of the Joker’s major skills have identifiable training records. Pretty much every crime he has exhibited, from firearms to chemical weapons to explosives to combat to torture to psychological manipulation, all have their roots in skills he was deliberately taught by the government and the military. Even the famous ‘Joker smile toxin’ that he used to scar some of his victims, and once, famously, a harbor full of fish, comes from a recipe he adapted from a military handbook.”
6 Summer Gleeson: “Even the Spear of Destiny itself… Napier wrote a report for his superiors six months before his arrival in Afghanistan, about the potential of confiscated or military-developed mind-altering weapons held by the U.S. government. He apparently learned about and personally experimented with the Spear as part of this research process.”
