Description I simply adore this show! It's great to watch Rowan Atkinson (who is usually better known as the bumbling Mr. Bean) as Edmund Blackadder. He's got a sardonic take on everything and his wonderfully hilarious servant-sidekick Baldrick never fail to get some good laughs from me no matter how many times I watch it. (Yeesh, I sound like an advert there, don't I? )

Blackadder: A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening ear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French porn.

It's so funny you say that Rowan Atkinson is better known as Mr. Bean. When I was young, I knew him as Bean. Whenever I saw Rowan in a movie, I would always say, "It's Mr. Bean!"
But then, in my later childhood, I was introduced to Blackadder...

Now a days, when I think of Rowan Atkinson, my mind always goes to Blackadder, like the person playing Bean was a completely different man.

I don't know why but it always puts a huge smile on my face when I meet someone in the US who watches Blackadder. I always thought it was extremely British so I love that you get the humor in it.
And I just love this episode

Well, I think it helps tremendously that I have a strong background in history and especially British history - and that I appreciate good, scathing wit. I'm probably one of the rare Americans who hears Hugh Laurie and doesn't think first of House MD but rather of him as the charmingly clueless Prince George. And I think Rowan Atkinson is far more hilarious when he's in a speaking role, like Blackadder or even Johnny English.

And Tony Robinson is just an all around impressive fellow, quite the utter opposite of Baldrick. I wish I could get Time Team here and his series of worst jobs in history. All terribly fascinating and Tony is so wonderfully watchable. How many hosts would willingly get into a tub of urine to demonstrate wool processing techniques?

Time Team is a great show! Its kind of funny that Tony Robinson plays a character whose legacy lives on through history, then he presents a show which intends to dig up the past. I always wondered how on earth the Baldrick family line survived since his only passion in life was turnips and dung for dinner!
And lets not forget Stephen Fry, I think he made some amazing contributions to the show, especially in the fourth series. Ever seen 'A Bit Of Fry And Laurie'?

I think Prince George is one of my favorite sub characters in the show, I love how dim witted he is

I know I shouldn't feel so proud of British comedy since I never wrote/filmed/acted any of it myself, but knowing that its out there just makes me grin from ear to ear. I grew up watching all of the British classics and I love the fact that they are not only extremely popular here, but also around the world.

I have to say, I had some drama yesterday and I was almost afraid to log back in, but you certainly cheered me up thank you!

Aww. Well I am glad I could cheer your day.

Stephen Fry was also delightful as Lord Melchett. Really, enough good can't be said about everyone in the show. It was a great cast, great writing ...

Prince George never failed to crack me up, from his inability to figure out his pants to his using the dictionary to look up naughty words, he almost made Baldrick look brilliant. XD

The big question is: can you say "Antidisestablishmentarianism"?
I actually can, haha!
I loved that scene!
