Description
Sorry I took a little longer than usual to get this study done. I have been super busy with commissions and other things that I had to put all my personal artwork on the back burner. But I found time this week and finished up arctodus simus! All done in marker, colored pencils, white pen, and Photoshop.MY PATREON! patreon.com/RushelleKucala

You definitely brought your A-game on this one. By looking over your anatomy pictures with the skeletal system and muscle structure, it's not hard to see your passion. The background really helps in this picture and your attention to detail is impeccable. Although, the shading is not very realistic, it is still an impressive piece. I would go for darker shades on the bottom and lighter shades on the top (of the Arctodus) especially given the surroundings, like how light the grass looks in the sunlight. Just to get the animal to match it's environment. You could even make the background slightly darker to match the Arctodus. The fur is really remarkable, very lifelike (reminds me of a dog I had. I can almost imagine petting the bristly, wild fur on this creature.) Overall, excellent job.

Well done. I may not have expected the Short Faced Bear to look anything like a spectacled bear, but this still looks nicely done.

Great work, and an excellent characterization of the animal. They were large, powerful predators and scavengers, but it is important to note that they also in all likelihood consumed plant matter as well, based on dentition and also based on the general characteristics of their skull, which bear some similarities with herbivorous bears. Love the artwork itself, and love the background you designed to compliment it.
