Thank you. Darkness periodically overwhelmes me and leads to my absence; not only from here, but from most of life. The light is still missing, but I'm learning to function without illumination...
The actual truth is far less poetic and far more miserable, but no one likes a whiner. Plus, the details of personal suffering and misery are always far less interesting than the teller is convinced.

Thank you. I am indeed well, and for my dumb luck, I find myself in one of the safest places on earth. Everyone here was sick for New Year's, but I believe we have a herd immunity now. I had plans to fly to the US in March, but I decided against it last year. Again, my dumb luck. I would have made a big mistake.
Probably more than most, I know your history and fully appreciate your art.Yyou are an artistic genius and I hope more people come to realize it as time goes on.

I believe it's possible your subconscious fortuitously made those decisions for you. Hopefully whatever caused you to make those choices will keep you safe for a long time yet.
As for the genius you speak of; I'm deeply flattered and hopefully can one day live up to such a lofty title.

Maybe you can differentiate between the subconscious and the unconscious? Or the collective subconsious vs the collective unconscious?Β
When I look back at the choices I've made, there is no logic behind them.
I spend so much time being conscious, that my other states become strengthened.Β

I can only answer from my own experience. Each time I sit to make a painting, I ask the universe to draw through me. I have no plan, no preliminary sketches and am often surprised at what appears. I believe that the subconscious is our portal or window to Universal Consciousness.
Β Thank you for the warm words of encouraging cheer, but unfortunately I am still very much in the midst of the maelstrom. Somehow, the creative urge has welled up again despite circumstance. I hope one day to be able put the pain aside and learn what happiness feels like, but I suspect that if this day arrives, my art will be no more. Right now, the option isnβt there, so I shall make hay, though the sun be obscured by clouds.
