Since someone mentioned Go Slowly on the previous comments I always remember of this piece when I listen to the song.

Thanks, though I guess any success achieved here is due to my inability to paint with much skill, and so I drew and worked into the painting with pencils ink and white gouache .

Thanks very much,
Yes, Major Tom would be a strong contender for the title, along with Vladimir Komarov

I love this, rather poignant in a chaotic way.

Now that you wrote spaceman I thought of Radiohead plus they have a similar eye colour!
It goes on slowly and the uniqueness is now visible

Thanks very much. I've always found that repetetive and painstaking tasks help to ease and lower the volume of the static. I've tried to combine areas of intense detail with looser brushwork similar to what I began to do in my drawings.

i love what you are doing, you've always commanded an enormous amount og control over the medium while exposing your interior. i'd love to see what your architecture would look like

Thanks, with this I went back to my roots and drew over the painting. I have to be honest with myself, I'm not particularly accomplished with a brush.
As for architecture, sometimes I almost get images in my minds eye of strange semi organic buildings and structures.
Maybe one day I'll release them on paper.

Thank you very much. It's been difficult to pick up a brush lately. Hopefully I will be around more soon.
Best wishes

Buddy, don't take this as advice or anything but I think I can relate to how you feel (I read your journal entry). I'm a borderline nihilist and get depressed thinking about whether all of this is, at the end of day, about the process of finding what gives us most pleasure - i.e. back to hedonism. I can only tell you that there's this very real audience you have on DA which is composed of people who LOVE your work and think about you and your work during random times of the day. I can honestly say that, even without having to take the pain to try and understand you/your work, I thoroughly enjoy just looking at them. So, please - try to find some consolation in that you are causing real happiness around the world to complete strangers whenever you make a new art. And also, sadness/melancholy is beautiful too. Have a good day/night

Thanks very much for writing this. The question of purpose, real or imaginary has been a splinter in my brain for as long as I can remember and often starts pricking at my reasons for drawing and painting.
I appreciate the support and kind words and will try to be more conscious of what you wrote.
Best wishes

Thanks. Yes, sometimes the repetition of focusing on detail is beneficial to ease mental malaise.
